77 on meta-critic is well, it's above average.
Well, lets see here, you have one report where an analyst is estimating that Mafia II won't cover the game's production cost.
And on the other, you have Take 2, who say that the game is starting off great, and that they will make profit.
Jeez, I wonder who knows more about the game from those two.
The game did great especially on PC, where it was one of the most popular PC games last year.

Its a poor score for a game that was in production for 6 years? Its prequel rates about 88. Considering that was 8 or 9 years ago and the advances in technology since then you'd expect the sequel to be a lot closer.
Wouldn't the analyst know more or at least be more honest than a company that needs to protect its image?
Like surely you can see that Take 2 aren't going to admit that their game isn't selling well...
On console it sold under a million on both platforms so I don't see why PC would be that much better.
But thats the last I'll say on it. I'm not going to let this roll on for a few pages because frankly the game isn't worth it. Its a shell of an open-world game.
6 years by a small studio can be 1 year by a large studio. Development time doesn't guarantee quality. Mafia 2 was a quality title though, but it was kind of short, since 2K as ******* who destroyed six years of someones work so they can sell DLC.
It was everything Mafia was and more, only a lot shorter.
No, the analysts wouldn't know more, because analysts are wrong most of the time and they don't have the facts, 2k has the facts and they know how their games fair more than some amateur analysts who write on his blog.
Also, VgChartz is not a reliable source for sales review as they don't actually have access to the numbers, they guess them.
