Nope. I tried to stop gaming back in college when deadlines were impossible (hello thesis!) but then I realized I kinda lost a huge chunk of what makes me who I am.
Although maybe I would regret it if another aspect of my life was totally ignored because of gaming. Thankfully that hasn't happened.
people as you know human memory is very week. whatever you do in life you will always remember 1 / 1000. for example you can watch 70 movies and you will remember only 5 and with not mutch details. if i ask you now about a movie you will probably tell me the plot but can you also give me details if you havent watch that movie 1000 times? No. you can have 50 girlfriends do you remember all of them? no you remember the first one and the last one and some pieces here and there. do you remember all nights that you went to a night club? what happened? no.you see my point? life is short and human memory is week so it doesnt matter what you will do in life. enjoy as mutch as possible. Video games RULE.
Used to game a lot, now I have lessened that time throughout the week. So now when I do game it feels more satisfying and I find it more enjoyable. And I still make sure I get some outdoor time as well. Played some golf with friends the other week, week before went rockclimbing. I can't stand people that say gamers are just wasting their life playing games. Analyse how much time people spend staring at the television. Gaming is much better in that it is healthy, since it does formulate brain activity due to being interactive. Scientists have proven this.
The key is moderation, keeping fit, socialising, and gaming is part of keeping healthy these days. I visited my mother not long ago and walked in and found Puzzle Quest on the screen, she didn't realise that that puts her into the category of gamers. It's normal now, and not looked at as only geeks and children play games.
I will never give up gaming, as you get older you really couldn't care less what people think about you.
Been Gaming for a number of years since NES/SNES and I have to say it's a hobby like no other. Gaming was a great escape from my rubbish environment as a kid(Arcades and home consoles), and up till now this hobby has effected me to become much smarter and knowledgeable. Being an optimistic I don't regret the years spent Gaming in my life.
Edit: I am reaching the point of moving away from forums however.
To me if one thinks he regret the past he does. But I know that you can always do better things and gaming is one of my hobbies. So no, not so much. It's just one way I vented myself and have to say I found one of my best friends out of net. So playing is good until you are way too addicted to it. It's bad like drugs and alcohol. Ruin life/s.
I like to game on my pc but i also play electric guitar for 2 hours a day. I also am a film freak (good films, not your transformers 2 or other hollywood bullsh*t) and series (dexter, six feet under, the sopranos, breaking bad, ...). I also play in a Black metal band, which is also a good 8 hours a week.
Oh and like stated before. If you enjoy it --> do it. If you like to game 60 hours a week, do it. Don't care what other people think about it. ofcourse we have responsebility's but we do in our free time what we want.
Agreed."Time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time" - Bertrand Russell
Don't regret it for one second. Many cherished moments of mine are from playing video games.

I kind of do. Looking back I definitely could have been more social with friends and been playing more sports. Just taking advantage of more opportunities in general. Unfortunately the gamer inside me and my lack of self-discipline is the reason I slacked off heavily and wandered aimlessly in college.
If I had chance to go back in time and redo these last few years I definitely would, but you can't just spend your time regretting the past and hoping for change. At least now I've come to realize that and have put my life towards something.
Some people don't care about success/career/family etc., which is fine, but that is usually the trade-off if you are a hardcore gamer.

If your a real hardcore gamer then you should be earning a living somehow by gaming. You can still have success/career/family, and goals, and still game. I can justify my gaming. I sell computers, so by gaming I can provide a client the clear knowledge of what PC would be better suited if they wanted to play certain games. :D
I even claim all my PC components as a tax writeoff, since it's part of the job. I bought Crysis because clients were asking what machine would run that ok. Claimed it as a work expense.
