Nah thats not true I enjoyed EQ2 a bit more then WoW...
EQ2 wasn't crap in my opinion, the bugs and lag just make it as though you're walking through quicksand. And yes it's pretty much the same as a year ago today what with the lag and low fps.Twylaa
I never had much problem with lag or low fps rates.. This was ona 6800 GT at the time.

Really? My computer's fairly new but I never could get it working smoothly. I'm not even close to a tech wiz so I guess that's that, heh.
EQ2 is crap if you play a good race...
Freeport is the only way to go with that game. I found EQ2 a lot more fun than EQ just because it was more casual and user friendly. I could solo things that were within 25 levels of me...couldn't do that in EQ :P My level 60 rogue with primal weapons in EQ almost died to a level 38 hill giant...god I hate EQ and how unbalanced it was.
EQ2 ran PERFECTLY on a 6800GT, AMD64 3400+, and 1gig of RAM.

Dude IDK I loved EQ the original.. Some of the most memorable areas ever.. The games was tough too, unlike WoW where I could pretty much run to where ever I wanted in a properly leveled zone as I..
Hell I remember in EQ in oasis of Marr where at level 18 group where you had to be on the look out of Sand Giants.. Nothing was better then having a sand giant spawn right on top of 6 groups.
Well I for one have no idea what you're talking about. The game has never been buggy for me and always ran smoothly. The problem that a lot of people have with EQ2 is to start cranking the settings because they have good hardware, and then get ahead of themselves. The engine used in EQ2 is future-proofed for probably atleast another five years. There's so much extra detail you can add to the game in terms of draw distance, lighting effects, rendering, etc.
When the game first came out and I was running it on a 9700 Pro, it ran pretty good and looked nice. I went back to the game last year for a month or so when Echoes of Faydwer came out, this time with a new system with dual 7800 GT's. I probably got about the same framerate with both systems, because I increased the visual quality of the game. But there are certain options that if you put too high your framerate will be terrible.

I agree.. that feeling was awesome, seeing a sand giant looming on the horizon and running for your low-level lives. I wish I played EQ much more than I did, because I missed out on a lot of great moments.
Bad points about EQ2...
- Horrible plastic like graphics
- zoning (kills the game)
- 16 or so boring bland ****s
- The whole world just has a feel to it like that i hate for some reason, it's like it's fake : But in WOW it feels right...
- launched without any PVP, now it has PVP it's really poor cause the game wasn't designed for it.
- Boring instances and it's always "kill a dragon" in EQ2 never anything else like WOW.
etc etc.
I have my reasons but the only good thing EQ2 has IMO that WOW could easily add..
- Guild levels
I would say guild housing but it's instanced.
Bad points about EQ2...
- Horrible plastic like graphicsAnd yet you are comparing it to WoW that certainly does not have top of the line graphics, not to mention they are cartoony.. Not dissing WoW because their graphics are just fine but I fine this comparison a bit absurd and extremely bias.
- zoning (kills the game)How is this a killer? The Zones are around 4 to 5 times larger then any other area like WoW's for instance, and zones take at best 20 seconds to load into..
- 16 or so boring bland ****sYet again I fail to see how you think this.. I found EQ2 far more accepting different roles for multiple ****s.. Games like WoW even with a talent tree your still pigeonholed half the time to the stereotypical role for numerous ****s. Not to mention the majority of the time there are really only 2 to 3 builds you can choose for in any ****. Even then the community is so bad that you well be hated amongs because a bunch of idiots think a ****needs to have this build always.
- The whole world just has a feel to it like that i hate for some reason, it's like it's fake : But in WOW it feels right...
How can you use WoW as a comparison? EQ2's zone were fun because you actually had to watch out for numerous named guys.. In WoW I could run any where I want because eveyrthign is leveled to me.. How is this realistic what so ever?
- launched without any PVP, now it has PVP it's really poor cause the game wasn't designed for it.
I tend to agree, but so is WoW's so there isn't much point for comparison.
- Boring instances and it's always "kill a dragon" in EQ2 never anything else like WOW.
etc etc.Ironically enough you do the exact same thing in every WoW instance. Infact half the time there is no objective because your just trying to do one little side quest..
I have my reasons but the only good thing EQ2 has IMO that WOW could easily add..

Sorry I disagree with you on nearly every point. For one instances can have numerous ideas with the ability to mentor which means you can pretty much raid with any one of any level.. Not to mention you can jump into scripted missions of large amoutns of people which are very fun..
To even cry about the loading times is rediculous they are not that bad ontop of massive zones that make WoW dwindle in comparison..
In the end they are both strong games, but one thing you failed to mention is JUST HOW BAD WoW's community is.. Not only is there a overabundence of 10 year olds playing the game, but there is entirely too many jerks not to mention elitiests...
In the end if your going to be playing a serious MMO I highly suggest you avoid WoW because the end game has destroyed it for many vets. Because in the end its ceasless grinding where to even become the best you have to spend 4 hours a day every night raiding with a guild with rediculous requirements. Or you can pvp and get owned by the imbalanced items these people who spend 4 hours a day o rmore raiding.
In the end its a great casual mmo, but if you ever reach the end game all you have is to grind the smae instances ove rand over again, grind mobs for the same dorps over and over again.. Or pvp grind honor over and over again. The game isn't even fun exploring any more because the zones are entirely too safe to travel around in and there is no interesting little areas like I found in both the first and second EQ.

And yet i disagree with you and i didn't moan about loading times i said "zoning" which breaks the feeling of being in a world for me. I hate having to click on bels to go to a new land or click on a door, i want to be able to go on a boat there or sumthing.
We all have different opinions and ours is different from eachother but i know many more people agree with me judging on subscriber numbers and what everyone says about it the main points are:
Horrible graphics and zoning + crap PVP.
