Does Outputting to a Larger Monitor Require More of the Video Card?

The reason is I have my laptop hooked up to my 50" LG Plasma, and I have the Orange Box and Counterstrike on it. I was wondering if this output affects my video card performance?

And for just to let everyone know, i don't have it on both displays. When I'm using my plasma, the laptop screen has no picture. I'm not running 2 screens at once.

A 24" 1920x1200 monitor is going to be harder to run for hardware than a 50" 1080p or 720p HDTV.

1920x1200 vs 1080p is a difference of 230,400 pixels.

Depends on the resolution. What is the native resolution of your laptop and the native resolution of your TV.

I'll have to check the resolution. But, my laptop is just for school, but I use it to play Orange Box. It's not a "gaming machine" but the specs let me run Orange Box maxed out. Which is all I want to play anyways.
