As in, I convinced my friend to pick up Torchlight when this sale first started and now it's on for half that price. If he emails them any chance of him getting 5 bucks back or should he not even bother. I bought it full price 2 weeks ago, and I don't assume they would price match back that far but he just bought 2 days ago and is kicking himself.

No refunds whatso ever. I took advantage of the Half off deal on torchlight myself. But oh well. The game is worth 20 bucks. I paid 10 (and gifted a second copy at 10) I have no complaints.

only gamersgate is offering that service on some games. For example, when they released dragon age, they would give you a partial refund if the game price dropped the month following your purchase

I mean actual stores. Hell, even the grocery stores do it.dlindenb2000
I'd love to live where you do. There is only one store in my area that price matches up to a month down the road and that's a small time electronics shop.

Pretty much comes with the territory on digital purchases - I have bought games at full price only to see them go on sale the next week (or sometimes the following day :/). GamersGate offers 'price protection' on many newer games so that if the price drops in a set period you get a partial credit back, they are the only ones I know that do that though. Most retail stores do not do this (in my area none do) that I have noticed either.

Nope. I gifted someone the Orange Box earlier this year and the following weekend it was half price. They wouldn't match it for me.

Hate it when they do that. I also paid 9.99 for it. Thats disadvantage from buying online, retail store like bestbuy would give you difference a month later no problem. Also didn't work well with pre-order, bought left for dead 2 at 44.99 just to see it a bit later at 37.50.

Anyway for now won't buy anymore games in the regular specials and just in the dailies.

At the start of the sale I went through and book marked everything I plan on buying... But I'm going to wait till Jan 3rd to get them. I had Torchlight bookmarked at half off and today managed to get it for 5 bucks. I suggest everyone else do this. This way you get to see the daily deals before making purchases.
