Does the "gamer" aesthetic repulse you too?

So much that it prevents you from making otherwise good hardware purchases?

I really can’t say that in any form. If I like the hardware, and it’s a good deal, I will purchase the hardware.

I am very much a function over form dude, often to the point of going out of my way to intentionally get ugly things. I do not like LED's, I do not like anything with gamer design. I will however make exceptions for well-built products.

Yes it's trash. That's why I use a non gamer chair (steelcase), fractal north, and oak sit/stand desk. KB and Mouse are "gaming", but don't look it too much.

A while back I saw in the warehouse I work at an RGB headset. Think about that. The player wants flashing lights on his head. He can't see them.

Same. I don't care about how my case looks inside as I just put on the side panel and then hide it behind my monitor.

Yes it does. "Sports" aesthetic, too (in clothing). Thankfully with "gaming" stuff they usually let you turn the stupid RGB off, so it looks kind of normal.

You're never really forced into it. It looks very dated quickly and all the more reason to update to a new trend.

I don't give it much notice. I don't actively avoid it but I don't seek it out either.
