I get tired of console games much more easily than anything on PC. So many of them are lacking any real complexity or depth that I just find them insulting to my intelligence. So many of them also have that flavor of the week feeling. You just know that noone will be playing them a few years from now, or even a few months from now.  If anything, I've been spending a lot more time lately playing strategy games like Supreme Commander and CNC3 on PC, while my Wii and 360 collect dust. Although I would also tend agree with what a few other have said earlier, which is that games in general lately seem to be declining in quality.

I like the newer games, but if you play some of the games on Gametap, the old DOSish games.. It's a huge split, sorta like Console games today.. There's mostly crappy repetitive dumbass games.. And there's a few that are just so unique and brilliant for their time with great stories.. Nowadays on PCs it seems like they are trying to meet those games somewhere in the middle, leaving most of the great stories and such out, oftentimes. Console games seem to be lacking a lot in the story-based games, but the few they have seem to be good, but then every single other game is a stupid repetitive thing.

Well it's good to hear I'm not alone in this debate. Many great points have been mentioned, alas in last few weeks work hours got longer and longer and not so much time for enjoyment.

During this period, few of my co-workers dusted of their old consoles and I had a chance to spend some time as we played together. PS2, Xbox and never version as well were pretty interesting I had to admit. I don't have much experience with consoles, so it was fun, so to speak.

However, as the old saying goes - old wolf never changes his fur. It was great, games were quite fun but only for a while. It is true I haven't played many to actually judge them, but all I really needed was some time off PC gaming (6+ years) to really appreciate it.

I guess I sounded a bit overplaying PC in my original post, it's however quite the opposite. With 50 hours a week, and a spouse gaming is not something I could have continue enjoying as I did back in College.

Nonetheless, I always find few hours to lose myself in some good PC titles.

At least one good thing came out from my doubts that I had. I learned that PC will remain as my only gaming system, (Maybe I'll obtain an DS when I travel) and to celebrate the return I shelved 350$ on that new shiny 8800 GTS. The only interesting side is, instead of enjoying the HDR of Oblivion, I found myself replaying Deus Ex.. :)

Too much of anything is bad and it makes you disinterested in that thing. Take a short break, everything will be fine.
