There are a lot of people on this board that hate it because its so casual, so not sure you're going to get unbiased answers, just dont listen to everyone coming in here calling it league of casuals Its a fun game that I've been playing for over a year. The thing is like all MOBA style games, you're going to be pretty bad until you learn every single champions moves and how to counter them, so its gonna take some time.

It's fun and moderatly competitive.

If you like the competitive side you'll get many hours out of LoL.

It might be fun if you're new on MOBA games, easy to play, easy to understand. You might like it but if you want a more competitive/intense game try playing Dota2 or HoN, these two games have deeper learning curve compared to LoL but when you get pass through it.. 10000x more fun.

It's very fun, but a lot of the community is rather poisonous, and you'll run into a lot of really good players who make new accounts.. so you'll still be up against some really good players, even at a low level. If you're going to get into it, it's the type of game I highly recommend looking into youtube video guides, build guides from sites like solomid or mobafire, and practicing in a lot of bot matches. If you're new to MOBAs, it's not really pick up and play like some other genres.

You can also find a lot of help in the official forums, if you go to the New Players section.

Better play with bots first for get an idea of how to play. Like many people have said, the community isn't the best. Watch videos in Youtube and check builds in Mobafire.

Im not a big fan of the strategy/moba kinda game, so I didn't like it very much, but alot of other people love it, so I would say its worth a try.

I play DotA for about 4 years, and I've found LoL to be much more fun than DotA, or it's just a nice feeling of change in my head?

Well assuming you have zero experience with action-RTSs, I can tell you it is nothing like any game you have played before. League of Legends is the best game to start off with and understand this genre. This genre has a pretty high learning curve, but once you understand the basics of the game it gets a lot easier and just comes down to playing the game more and having fun.

Once you have played the game enough and you actually enjoy it too, I recommend thinking about 2 things. "Do I want to play this game casually (on the side) or do I really want to get good and play the game competitively?" So, if you don't want to be amazing at the game just stay with League of Legends. However if you want to become a master at action-RTSs and you might even want to play competitively THEN I would switch over to Dota2 (after you learned the basics from League of Legends).
