[QUOTE="dakan45"] I think they try to do something like neverwinter nights 1 and 2 and its expansions but in the form of dlcs.DanielDust

If you didn't know already, both NWN and NWN 2 had "DLCs", I don't remember the number but I think NWN 2 had around 7.

Thats what i mean, nowadays there are no expansions just dlcs :( I dislike dlcs, i would prefer a big expansion.

NWN2 had 4 expansions i think.

seeing all these people who will gladly pay for - or even defend - these shameless DLCs that should've been part of the full game is trully baffling.

warmaster670

Prove it, prove that it "should" have been in teh main game, and it isnt something that was made purely for this purpose, and wouldnt have existed if it wasnt DLC.

Oh ya, no one ever can, they just assume.

Prove it that the extra $10 for MW2 is not for a "day one dlc" that they decide to include in the main game anyway because it will simply be too shameless a thing to do to sell it seperately.

see? i can go on all day.

Eh? Far as I know it only had the one, Mysteries of Westgate. Where did the number 7 come from?

if i can't buy it on a disc then i won't be buying it at all. i visit way to many websites, have way to many passwords, have way to many "game apps" as it is (steam, impulse, windows live for windows) i really don't want to have to visit a website and create an account for every single game i own. and if this game ends up being a steam game im really not sure i will be buying it at all.

I added that 2 there by mistake, I wanted to say NWN as in the NWN series, and now that I checked there are 6, 5 for NWN and MoW for NWN 2.

The console version is the same price, they just upped the PC price because they can. Hope it sells like ****, i wouldn't pay $60 for any pc game unless they up the price again and consoles go to $70. (probably not even then)

sigh..... don't you get it? Bioware is doing essentially the same thing here, only it's packaged in a different way. but guess what? people actually bought that lie. can i prove it? no i can't. but can i smell the sh#t under the cover? hell yea - it stinks to high heaven.

i'm not against DLC, you see. but i agree with Wildflower here.... by launching a "Day 1 DLC" Bioware really takes this crap to a whole new level.

What's truly insulting is that this game was finished a year ago and delayed so the console versions could be completed. If anyone remembers DA was originally a PC exclusive. So, instead of taking that extra year and adding more content to the game, they decided to make DLC and nickle and dime their customer base. The sad part is people will buy this garbage and this practice will only get worse.

Personally, if I buy this game at all, and considering the sophomoric nature of a lot of the previews I've seen and read that's a big if, why would I get this pared down release version? Why wouldn't I wait for the inevitable "game of the year" or "gold" version that will include all of this extra DLC at a greatly reduced price?

I'm sorry but this new business model of greed and ripping-off the customer at every turn is really starting to make me consider taking up golf as a hobby.

My biggest fear as a gamer is that we will soon be paying full price for half a game. It won't go in that direction this year or possibly next, but it will get there if we keep heading down this path. I remember when they were toying around with the latest Grand Turismo iteration. They were thinking about charging full price for the game with a limited amount of cars and tracks and you had to pay extra to unlock the rest of the game. I remember hearing that if you unlocked everything the game would end up costing you around $215. I see games going the DDO route except that you still have to buy the game. You buy the game you get some basic dungeon and classes. Want to play a new class? Only $7! A new 'handcrafted dungeon is only $10. Or for a limited time preorder offer you can get a lifetime unlock everything for only $200!!!!! (Hellgate London) I know that developers need to eat and put food on the table but so do I. Instead of looking to gouge your fanbase for more cash, look for a different frickin publisher that isn't going to charge you 80% of every game you sell.

its to try and combat piracy, atleast its better than what some other companies are doing.

how can you combat piracy with a 7$ dungeon? They just make me hold my purchase until they release a "gold" edition with all the dlc contents (because I bet they are planning to release several more in the near future, if they start on day 1 with one)

Pro tip: this DLC gets pirated too so that cant be the excuse.

I'll not get this game for sure... I'm really tired to see companies charging for extra stuffs that should have been in the release. I can understand that a big module outside the game and done after the release could be charged. Soon they will charge us for them to fix their own games (patch).

Not really, the reason why the dlc and release date is the same is because the game was finished 6 months ago until EA decided to postpone DA's PC release. Its not really surprising there would be dlc be now and considering how widespread it is it isn't also surprising that EA has it. I was hoping that it would be free for the PC like the ME dlc.

No mater how much you wait, it won't be free. Bioware doesn't make them free, even after years.

DLC on day one is a load of crap. I definitely won't be paying for it. If you're gonna separate content from the released game and sell it at extra charge, I'm just not going to buy it. Hopefully enough people do the same.

Why do people even bother with Bioware anymore? It's sad that they were once considered the best developers of their era, and now they just make trashy games.

I'm no fan of DLC on day one either, but considering I have been waiting on this game forever I guess I will bend over just this one time since it's a bioware game I followed for the past few years.

Although in their defence it seems the $7 DLC was done after the game was finished, I read a dev post stating that they had to bring back the voice actors to record new voice acting for the DLC. They could still have tossed us a bone and threw it in the shipping version or release as a free DLC pack for PC at least.

most good devs when given extra time for a game spend it working on polishing the game or adding extra content....instead they said to themselves or was pushed by EA to decide how they could make more money....so they pulled a cave and put a price tag on it. i guess we should be greatfull we still get pc games.... i just went to FOUR stores and none of them had Risen.

Holy hell, I that is insane! roughly $270 to get Railworks and all the DLC.
