With the inevitable black friday sale coming up, I was thinking about what I might get when It comes, I decided most of my purchases (depending on how much they are slashed off by) except this one.

So which one offers more content?

Also does Mass Effect 2's combat have any strategy to it at all?

I don't know I will just wait and see what they have for sale.

I am waiting patiently and will save up a little spending money for it.

The best way to answer your question is to direct you to the Mass Effect 2 PC demo available here :-

http://masseffect.bioware.com/

The demo is about 2gbs in size and comes with two missions that should give you a good idea of what the combat is like, My own personal view is that there isn't much strategy involved at all with Mass Effect 2 combat. But you might as well give the demo ago and see what you think. I can't really comment on which has more content because I have never played Dragon Age. But ME 2 took me close to 30 hours with my first playthrough and that was leaving some of the side missions out.

I honestly prefer ME1 and 2 over Dragon Age Origins.. DAO I do not like controlling whole parties to me that is not pnp roleplaying that its trying to aspire to.. The fantasy is alittle bit too cliche, and the character classes are entirely too narrow for my tastes.. Mage, Rogue, and Warrior.. To me that feels a step back from the DnD types...

Dragon age tried to be the spirutal succesor of Baldurs Gate but it failed sadly. That dont mean its a bad game but its no where as good as it could have been. And like the person above said... They basicly looked at Baldurs gate added 3d... Threw in a "average fantasy story" where there are dark spawn instead of orcs, removed most of the choices on character builds / weapon types / armor types and said "Here you go! New game!" And the fact that its moving towards more action and less rpg by the looks of it :(

But! You should buy it if you like RPG games in general.

To be fair BG2's main story was quite average too.. it was just the characters, overall environment and the side quests that linked in a interesting and unique idea..

Dragon Age, its masterful - and the storyline is incredible - on the surface it may seem lord of the rings-esque, but the amount of detail in the world, particularly the back stories of the characters is inspired.

Both are great, however if you check the official forums Dragon age is full with problems.

They were not patched since release. You might have more luck than others.

Same here. I played it a lot & the only problem I remember is getting stuck, like once.

Well, you see I don't have a good enough computer to handle Mass Effect 2, the reason I'm even asking is because I am most likely getting a computer on the black Friday weekend or on boxing day.

So, it's in advance that I'm even doing this.

Personally, I'd go for Mass Effect 1 and 2. No, they're not as strategic or deep as Dragon Age, and no, the two together probably won't last as long as Dragon Age does with its expansion and DLC...but they're simply more fun, in my mind. I really got tired of Dragon Age after about 30 hours. I know some people swear that it was awesome, but I just felt that it was bland and tedious. It's hard not to like the Mass Effect series however, even if they're more like action games than RPGs at times.

Plus, on top of its level of fun, there is simply no measurement for how epic you feel at occasional moments, its off the freaking scale. Making a break for the Normandy while under attack, going rogue from the council, kicking Reaper/Collecter ass... Good Times.
