Hey guys, I think I have a little problem with dust constantly creeping into my case. Here is a basic outline of air flow in my case. The 2 front fans and the rear exhaust are running as slow as possible till the case starts to get warm. I have full control of these fans via the motherboard. The two fans up top for the radiator are locked ( controlled by the cooling block). Then there is the PSU which is really unnecessary for this topic because its on its own air loop.

So I was wondering if i should flip the radiator fans the other way and bring the cool air in. I'm hoping that this extra air coming in will create the positive pressure I'm looking for while also cooling CPU more.

if so, does it matter if I configure the fans to push or pull? Or would you suggest another method? Any bit of guidance would help.

Do not flip fans from radiator, since that would be counter productive. Only real thing you can do is get some filters for intake fans.

@04dcarraher: there are filters built into the removable covers.

Could always switch the rear fan...

Doesn't have to be. In my case, I'll get less cooling by using the top fans as exhaust fans. That would mean pulling warmer air through the rad than when I pull in air from the outside of the case.

yea I have watched a few videos on YouTube and people explain that any air flow is better than no air flow. I also need to find out how to slow down the fans on the h110i gt. When I'm playing games all my motherboard fans are quiet but those 2 on top sound like a jet engine. When I put my hand above the radiator the air is mostly cool.

Do you use stock fans or other ones?

@horgen: yes I have the stock fans that it came with. my room is pretty warm right now, but the inside of my case is nice a cool, at least when I put my hand in side. I just stopped playing a game and the fans did slow down a bit but still going at it pretty good. according to the software its at 1600 RPM and cpu temp is at 30c. Also the air coming out the top is cooler air than the ambient air in the room.

The air coming out is moving - thus creating a breeze. If you hold your hands up close to each other and start waving air with your right hand against your motionless left hand, the air feels cooler. Without a cooling system that can generate colder air than what the ambient temperature is, the air coming out of your computer is not cooler.

I typed a decent reply but I had to leave and then I came back to find an error when I submitted it. Oh well!

I'll keep it short. There's no good reason why your CPU fans should be locked - they're perfectly configurable. Control their RPM in the software and turn them down as much as possible (without your temps getting too hot). Turn down your back case fan to the minimum speed. Turn up your front fans until they're slightly louder than your CPU fans at their reduced speed. Bam - positive airflow. No need to switch anything around. You can even experiment with different fan profiles and do benchmarks to see what gets you the best temps.

Could be set to a rather aggressive fan curve as stock.

I just found the option for different fan settings and even a custom curve creator.
