I'm just wondering if it is worth it to upgrade my cheap ol' standard VGA cable to a DVI . They are more expensive though. I'm currently very pleased with the quality of mymonitor but I'm wondering what the difference will be and whether it's worth it or not.

DVI uses a digital signal instead of an analog one. There isn't much of a difference, but if you have a nice monitor it might be worth the switch.

If you have a nice monitor it makes a pretty big difference. The colors are alot more accurate and there is just generally higher IQ on your monitor.

Most monitors have a nice DVI signal decoding chip and a cheap VGA, just so they can list the feature on the box.

ultra amazing monitor - HDMI
great monitor - HDMI/DVI
alrite monitor - DVI/VGA

go with DVI because its always nicer to use Digital signals.
