GREAT NEWS !!!

Well...damn. That IS awesome news. Dang. GamesterpheonixYep, and even better news is that Steam (imo) is going to have to follow suit. Hmmmm... win win for us gamers.
That's...surprising. What's to stop someone from buying a game like Crysis 3, beating the campaign in 5 hours, and then returning in within the 24 hour refund period?
Gotta' read the fine print. It's only for EA games and whichever third-party publishers support it.
Even though this is good news for me WRT BF4. If they don't fix Battlelog I'll drop that shit like the hot mess that it is.
Nothing, but that's not the idea of the guarantee now is it. Like the article says, it's for people who try the game and don't like it. Personally I would think it's easier just to release a demo but hey.... what do I know....That's...surprising. What's to stop someone from buying a game like Crysis 3, beating the campaign in 5 hours, and then returning in within the 24 hour refund period?

Great, EA can refund the last 10 years of FIFA purchases I made for PC. MeltdownMediaWhy? I had heaps of fun with the last 10 FIFAs I bought.
Like the old Gamestop/Funcoland days but with only 24 hours. Still wouldn't use Origin though.That's...surprising. What's to stop someone from buying a game like Crysis 3, beating the campaign in 5 hours, and then returning in within the 24 hour refund period?

Clever. Some people will now buy games that they otherwise wouldn't. And some of some of them will keep them. But many games that I liked a lot have been rather boring in the first few days of playing, or even frustrating, untill I got the hang of things, so for me 24 hours is not enough to decide. Still... It's clever.
True, this IS quite a brilliant thing Origin has done, I tend to not like origin as much as Steam, but credit needs given where due, and this IS rather brilliant.
That was an option in the old days? Like, when?GREAT NEWS !!!

And they can track how often you played and for how long etc.. so they will know you just beat the campaign then deny the refund.That's...surprising. What's to stop someone from buying a game like Crysis 3, beating the campaign in 5 hours, and then returning in within the 24 hour refund period?

[QUOTE="JangoWuzHere"]And they can track how often you played and for how long etc.. so they will know you just beat the campaign then deny the refund. It can't and won't work that way. Unless other stipulations are stated, they will have to stand by their word. Unless they want to get absolutely **** on by the BBB (they don't). If you can't return the game after putting hours into it - they might as well not even offer the refund policy in the first place.That's...surprising. For example if they noticed that you played each game you returned for like 10 hours (and the game was 10 hrs to beat), and that you had the final achievements of finishing the game etc.... and that you did this with the last 8 games then it's pretty obvious you're abusing the system.That's...surprising. Then they would at least have to state something to that effect in the policy (in the bottom line, extra tiny font). You can still beat a game and have legitimate reasons to want a refund. You'd have be one hell of a corporate nazi to believe otherwise.
And this is why we can't have nice things in the world....sigh....
Just wished this was available when Mass Effect 3 was released.
I would have asked for a full refund after a playing for a few hours.

Huh I thought you people hated Origin and EA.

 We do :)
I'm too busy enjoying the games to hate on someone :PThen they would at least have to state something to that effect in the policy (in the bottom line, extra tiny font). You surely couldn't be so naive, could you?[QUOTE="FelipeInside"][QUOTE="KHAndAnime"] Then they would at least have to state something to that effect in the policy (in the bottom line, extra tiny font). You surely couldn't be so naive, could you?Naive that I would expect people to actually care about the hard working developers that bring you these good titles? Yeah, maybe not all gamers are like that. At least I know where YOU stand.
I don't see why a developer doesn't deserve their money if they bring me a good title. If the game is bad and u want to return it then fine, but abuse the system is just not giving back to the people who create our hobby.

Since you don't know how to read between the lines: You do know that a single play-through of a game is a small portion of a complete game product, right? What if the multiplayer didn't work, and had no promise of working anytime soon? What if the game was barely playable through-out the campaign? What if the game just flat-out sucked and didn't live up to any of the promises made by the developers or the product labeling?
People like yourself are why we get so many shoddy launch titles (like Sim City 5) - happily paying money for broken games and then defending publishers for rushing the games out. In just about every other market in the world - you're guaranteed satisfaction or your money back. No reason why it shouldn't apply here - especially if it's impossible to duplicate the content. There are plenty of games worth my money, no need to give money to the people who least deserve it.
Yet for some reason, here we are with Felipe, who believes you're an amoral person who pirates all games if you believe that you should be able to play a game long enough to evaluate it before making your decision to return it.

If you think the game is good, then you should buy it. If you think the game is bad and not worth your money, then this system is there for you to return it. But people are here talking about using this system as a RENTAL SYSTEM, and that I don't agree with. What you just described is a rental system.
/facepalm.
Did you not read the initial article I posted and how the system works?
Here it is again:
1- You buy a game, you enjoy the game and are happy with it, so you just keep playing the game. FINE.
2- You buy a game, you play it for a few hours and realize it's not ur type of game, or ur PC has problems running it etc, so you return it. FINE.
3- You buy each game, finish the game quickly, then return it in every case. NOT FINE and basically the same as pirating (playing without paying)
Like I said before, to me it would be easier and a lot less paperwork and risk to just release a demo, but who knows why developers don't.
