With EA now backing steam its going to become to future of PC gamming. Auto-updates, play the games from any PC. Whats not to love? I hope they rethink some DRM though...

DRM is not something to love, no matter the form.

Hopefully this means not having do deal with activations other than Steam's. At the very least it beats EA's terrible digital download service, where you have to pay additional money for the ability to re-download games...and it still expires! That's the way I understand it anyway. I can't say I care about any of those games available right now though.

I Have a New Found Respect for EA..:o The new Games that they put on Steam has no DRM/secuROM or limited Acts of any kind.[Link]
(you can even look on the games steam page)

Sadly Crysis still has them but hopfully they get around to fix that.

Yep, good news, even though im not really interested. Also, I heard Crytek negotiated Crysis/Warhead on Steam, so securom in that might not even be EAs doing.

Yes, it's very good news. I'll finally be able to get Mass Effect for PC, without the SecuROM nonsense. If the Steam versions of Mirror's Edge and Dead Space are also DRM-free then I'll be picking those up when they become available.

Yay !! Mirror's Edge coming to steam is meaningful to me. I already have mine on pre-order arriving late January .. but this might be encouraging to others who wouldn't normally pre-order or actually go out and hunt down in stores it after release.

I hope it does well and the numbers stay encouraging to the number crunchers at EA .. I have high hopes for this game obviously .. too much so .. I wear it on my sleeve .. oh well atleast a sequel is confirmed for production .. and would really like to see the complete trilogy come to fruition.

Here's to hoping :P

EA has PC hits? Anyways I'm glad to hear they've figured out that DRM is bad!
