EN Geforce 9800GT Ultimate - Crysis Ultra?

I use to use this card in my computer. I think it burnt out - I think. I can't remember if that's why I took it out, but it did run very hot. I replaced it with a GTS 250 (my current) which was suppose to be a bit better.

I cannot run Crysis on Ultra with a GTS 250. I haven't played Crysis in like 6 months, but I think I played Medium/High at native 1680x1050.

Are people bsing on this card or was it that good? I am reading an old review from newegg.

I just found this card in a box in my storage locker.

As far as I know... no it isn't better. Neither card can max Crysis anyway.

I wonder why people were saying that on a newegg review in 2008.

They most likely were running at lower resolutions.

good to know, I knew the GTS 250 was slightly better. I don't know if this card still works, I don't have a computer to test it with. Guess I will just hold on to it for now.

GTS 250 cannot max crysis under any reasonable resolution. But you can play high settings very smoothly at 16x10.

single card, run mix of medium/high, no AA/AF at playable framerates

dual GTS 250s in SLI - run on high settings, no AA/AF at playable framerates - might squeeze out low setting of AA/AF with a bit of a hit in performance and still find the game mostly playable.

There is no way to max out Crysis on your card at a higher-end resolution. However the GTS 250 is a bit better over the 9800GT - roughly 5-10% as stated in an earlier post.

GTS 250 easily runs crysis at a mix of high/very high DX9 with 16xAF no AA at 16x10.

I think I had half the settings at high and half at very high, just make sure the likes of shaders and object detail are not at very high. AA is obviously a complete no go but AF hardly affects performance on any 8800 or better card.

You should try Crysis with some mods. They can make the game look and run better. I recorded Crysis running on one of my older PC builds with a GTX 275 and this is how it looks. Watch the video in "original" mode when selecting a resolution for the best quality. Keep in mind that FRAPS lower fps by a little. Yes but 9800GTX+ didnt have a 1GB version so thats one difference.

The mod that was used in the Crysis video. It looked good but I didn't really like it.
