Right, I don't know much about computers so I thought I'd ask.

Basically, somehow my C drives hard drive spaced dissapeared so I have 0bytes free. My D drive still has 20gb though. So I tuned my PC off then the next day I turned it on, and everything had been deleted from the computer but there was still 0bytes on C drive. I freed some more space but in conclusion, all my pictures, documents and music is gone! I'm using my other pc to write this. Can someone tell me what to do in order to retrieve my files please.

If you're on windows 7 just press start and type it in. I think vista has it too.

.... sounds like your drive may have died ( not good for you, all may be lost ); you should have someone else see if they can salvage anything ( if the drive did die ).... good lesson for keeping important files backed up on another drive.... good luck

Assuming that his OS is on the C drive, it probably didn't die. He wouldn't be able to start his computer then.

If system restore doesn't work, the best solution is to reinstall your OS. If you do, make sure to format the system disk.

Considering how little the OP seems to know about computers I would suggest this: Get a friend/family member/someone who knows about computers to take a look at what is going on. Have them perform any needed system maintenance (up to, and possibly including, a system restore). Doing a System Restore without knowing what you are doing can cause headaches for novice computer users.

[QUOTE="carlosjuero"]Considering how little the OP seems to know about computers I would suggest this: Get a friend/family member/someone who knows about computers to take a look at what is going on. This is good advice... Since your Windows is still starting and obviously you can go online, I think a virus has just deleted your access to your drives.... Get someone who knows what they are doing to have a look at it, getting advice here might result in a big mistake, since some members have no idea about computer troubleshooting...
