I hear that evga's water cooled mobo is better for overclocking and memory cooling, but seeing the prices of both of these two mobos asus striker should be better, so which one really is better? and can the asus striker support 1200 memory? bcuz im leaning abit more towards 1200 instead of 800 ram.

Neither.

Get the Gigabyte GA-P35-DQ6 or MSI P35 Platnium--those two are Penryn compatible.

Second that, I just wonder when Nvidia will get their 700 series board out to support Penyrn hehe...... oh and you can easily go past 500 on FSB.... that P35 is a crazy overclocker.....

Out of those two, I would get the eVGA one it is good in my experience. Striker is 300 dollars... and it makes the cpu run 1-2C hotter, but the striker is better than the evga AR, make sure you get the evga a1 its the new revision of the board.

EDIT: when I mean better is that the quads don't get as far in overclocking I had to use my multiplier

because I couldn't get the frequency and higher, I'm aiming 4.2 ghz once I get my vapo chill kit.

besides I haven't seen the water-cooled evga mobo on sale yet in newegg and such.... got the evga 680i here as well, A1 rev, and its running stable as a rock.

Yup Gigabyte GA-P35-DQ6! GIGABYTE FTW! Also any GA P35 has DDR3 support I think [might be wrong] :)

If you want excellent stability I would go with a Intel 975XBX2, not the best overclocker though.

You might want to look at this btw.... "free" overclock with P35 1333 FSB.

I wouldn't suggest the Gigabyte.  I have already RMA my P35C-DS3R and my P5K Deluxe should be here any minute.  It has already been noted by several hardware sites that the P5K is faster right now.

Yeah, I think Intel has the best mobos out there..... Tho other brandnames like Abit, Gigabites can be pretty good and cheaper too.

We are not sure of that, maybe it needs a different volt regulator than what the core 2's are running, since 45nm needs less, but the 1333 FSB support is there, that's a given.Â
