On sale for $10 on GMG right now, I've been in need of a good racing game lately, will this suffice?

Unless if you own a racing wheel then nope, not worth it.

You have to keep racing on the same track over and over and memorize it. If you like that kinda stuff, then yeah it's quite good. Requires time investment, so keep that in mind.

If you like Formula One then I would recommend it. There is some practice needed to get good at tracks (like there is with any game). There is a championship mode (so follow the real season essentially with you behind the wheel of a lower ranked team and make your way up each season), challenge mode where you take on previous real champions in set objectives, a short career mode where you race a couple of short races and then can move to a new team and select a rival to beat etc. There is also multiplayer via Steam online or LAN if you so desire (plus co-op championship if you know somebody else with it so you can set the race for as long as you want and do the practice sessions and qualifying if you want). Graphics wise it is impressive (although I got some odd tearing going on so I had to put V-SYNC on in the graphics menu which seemed to resolve it) and it sounds right for a F1 game. Personally I really enjoyed what I have played so far and would recommend it if you like simulation racing games (the cars can be twitchy if you put the power on too early thus makes you think more than say a Ridge Racer game or other similar arcade racers). It has got some improvements over previous games, but if you do not follow the sport or own the older ones and have not played them so much then maybe this will also not be for you. Hope this helps :)

Thanks :) I ended up buying Grid instead. Seems like too much time and practice involved for me to get in to. I just need something to pick up and play a race or two.
