Am looking to buy a new game and have come across Fable - now there's no playable demos (that I've found) to give me a hint of how good the game is compared to other RPGs like Dungeon Siege / Oblivionetc - so what is it like? Worth getting until Space Siege comes out?

NOt so very deep RPG compared to the likes of DS and Oblivion that you mentioned, which can take lots of your full time. It has an interesting story which decides according to your Good or Evil actions against the NPC's.

It looks really deep..then the disappointment sets in..a lot of stuff like titles..tatoos and haircuts haven't anything to do with completing the game...It's hack and slash and you can tell it was ported from XBox just by the controls...I'd skip it.:roll:
It got to the point where i was simply finishing the last little bit of the game too se what the ending was like. But, after beating what i THOUGHT was the end.(and would be on the normal version) then, it kept going, i wasn't happy, and quit.

I never played the Lost Chapters, just the original game on the Xbox. I didn't realize they tacked on another ending. I remember killing some end boss dude Zelda-style with a super sword. The PC version doesn't end after that?

no, after you kill "end dude" (not saying name for spoilers sake) there's a cutscreen and then you get to run off to do some other bs adventure. I just gave up and uninstalled instead.
Well I have already played the Witcher, Titan Quest and Oblivion (all mentioned above) which is why I am after something new as I can't really find much and Space Siege is still a huge 4 weeks away. It still sounds intreging to get, and if it is awful; I can always sell it and get most of the money back :p
it a simple fun action-rpg , nothing too great but you will most likely have fun playing it. also, it must be pretty cheap by now, so you can always get it and try it out
Fable is in my top 5 if not top 3 games of all time. I love Fable TLC for PC and hope Fable 2 comes also (it will). The game is cartoony a bit, but just great fun and you really want to keep playing the game. It is a fun type of game and not one that makes you think you are working.
i loved the game - it's sort of a SP diablo (but not really) - it's really hard to describe. it's cute, funny, and fun and i'd definitely play it again.
