no s***. i mean, we're talking about a game in which 25 goons are all it takes to waste the de-facto villain of the universe. EPIC.

Well, he only has a tiny chunk of his power left since other powerful NPC's have weakened him immensely throughout the expansion. I hope arthas stays alive(while the lich king dies), joins the alliance, and kicks ass and chews bubblegum.

You just gave me an idea for the guild name of my bank alt thank you :P
i'm not dissing the skills and commitment of any WoW guilds out there. it's about how lame the entire storyline has gone in order to cater to this game. what happened so far is a blatant insult to anyone who tries to make serious sense of the story. i'm sure there is plenty of room to create rewarding gameplay without ridiculing millenia old factions and demigods - if blizz had the creativity.
Yeah how dare the people who wrote the story continue writing it. It's a travesty. The Lich King should never die. I loved that character in WC3 so much. We should start an online petition to stop Blizzard from continuing the story of Warcraft in their future releases. I don't understand. it's as clear as broad day light - the story of Warcraft has turned from an epic to a ridiculous farce. also, this may sound strange to you, but i don't judge the merit of a story by who wrote it.

Which is why I asked for clarification. Please clarify.I think that Blizzard is going to have a very difficult time making WarCraft IV unless they completely ignore all the events that happened in World of WarCraft and start fresh. Or maybe they will stop making WarCraft RTS and focus on StarCraft. Who knows...k0r3aN_pR1d3Because Arthas is that important. Was he in warcraft 1 or 2.. I think not.

Maybe you need to be enlightened by the fact that he does NOT DIE in this patch....

Lol. Yeah gotta love people who jump to conclusions about the lore. How many should it really take? You have to keep in mind it's not 25 random level 10 noobs fighting him. Technically, by the time you get to the point to face off with Arthas, you're pretty much an epic hero in Azeroth. So, that's basically 25 epic heroes to kill 1 epic villain. That sounds fair in my opinion.no s***. i mean, we're talking about a game in which 25 goons are all it takes to waste the de-facto villain of the universe. EPIC.

and there are what? thousands of these "epic heroes" in each server? so no sweat, folks. everything is fine and dandy in the world of Azeroth.

I'm talking in terms of story and character progression. Yeah, realistically, there's no way that many players could be epic heroes. But this is a game, an MMO to be specific, and certain story mechanics have to be compromised. My point is, it's not like a group of farmers are raiding Icecrown Citadel. Do you have a better solution? Sure, you could make it so that players never face off against major villains to satisfy lore purists or whatever you want to call them... but that would make for a pretty boring game.I never really understood the whole "Lore first, gameplay second" mindset of some poeple. Bottom line, it's a game. It's not like we're talking about the Lord of the Rings trilogy.
now we're talking. i agree, sometimes you have to compromise lore for the sake of gameplay, but what's happening in WoW is going too far. like i said, there's plenty of room to manoeuver without cheapening the npcs. Lotro does infinitely better when it comes to handling the lore, which provides Turbine with much less freedom. but not only the original storyline is not affected - it's actually complemented by the game.
I was interested in raiding again after my last participation in Ulduar. However, after reading that Icecrown Citadel will have gated progression much like Trial of the Crusader, I uninstalled the game. Nevertheless, good luck to the Guilds participating.
Lol. Yeah gotta love people who jump to conclusions about the lore.[QUOTE="zomglolcats"][QUOTE="Johnny_Rock"]

I still don't understand your point. Blizzard never wrote that they were undefeatable.I'm still asking you to clarify what you mean. plenty. but ridiculing faction leaders and demigods - destroyers of worlds and races - to please lootwhores (25 at a time, fall in please~) turns my stomach the most. but hey, don't let me stop you from believing that it's DA GREATEST EVER MADE!!!!

Yes, the greatest GAME ever made. I repeat, greatest GAME. I can't stress to you enough the emphasis on the word GAME here. And Blizzard wrote the story, not you. If you dislike how these enemies can be defeated, it seems you're not fully understanding that it's a game and that Blizzard never said these enemies were undefeatable. You seem like an anti-WoW "they killed the story" kinda guy.[QUOTE="Jinroh_basic"][QUOTE="-Unreal-"]I'm still asking you to clarify what you mean. Facts are based on scientific evidence gathered from experiments and observations. An opinion is the result of NEITHER.
There is no greatest game ever made. Yes, some have more awards than others, but those awards are also given on the basis of opinions.
Get off your high horse. You are not God. You are not Augustus Caesar. You are a human being, just like the rest of us.

I never made any of my opinions seem fact. You did. lol. That's why you pointed it out. The point I was making, was that it is a GAME. The emphasis wasn't on my opinion of the game's quality, it was on the word 'game'. Games are made to give players enjoyment. And like I said before, Blizzard wrote the story. Because you don't want someone in the storyline to die (dispite there being no indication of them being undefeatable) doesn't mean that's the way it should be. I can't say I don't know why you got a bit annoyed at my view of the game's quality. Also, opinions can be the result of experiments and observations lol... Thanks for the compliment though making me seem like I'm a god. That was rather unexpected. As for your comment; "there is no greatest game ever made" I can argue that with a quote taken from your own Half-Life 2 review; "Easily the best game of all time".[QUOTE="-Unreal-"] As for your comment; "there is no greatest game ever made" I can argue that with a quote taken from your own Half-Life 2 review; "Easily the best game of all time". I thought GS PC forum chased all the WoWboys back to Blizzard forums quite some time ago.when you're arguing about a game with someone that has 4000 hours of WOW everybody loses. it seems like every wow thread turns into a giant flame war.

Is it because a lot of Warcraft fans don't get to experience all the higher-end stuff in WoW, and so they're pissed that Blizzard advance the Warcraft story through WoW? This is really the only thing I can think of.
This thread is proof I'm not imagining things and that people really do have some strange grudge against the game. I'd really like to find out what it is that drives people who dislike the game to come into a thread with "WoW" (or something related) in the title.
