Far Cry 2 Worth Getting ??

I loved this game on the 360, and then bought it for my new PC and loved it all over again - I remember when this game's collector's edition was shown... I wasn't even interested in Far Cry 2 at the time, and just laughed at the so-called wooden box that the collector's edition would ship in.

Yeah, well now I covet that box.

If you can get it for $5, then sure. I wouldn't pay any more than that!

It's alright.. sort of annoying though. For one thing your cell phone rings when you're in combat, and if you answer it you're pretty much screwed and have to do the msision all over again, and your buddies are sort of retarded. Not to mention getting around the map is a pain in the arse - guys will spawn in the same position you cleared them out like thirty seconds after you leave it - you can't even drive past anything without being shot at.

That's got to be the most annoying thing about this game, all you want to do is go somewhere and you freaking get shot at every time, and when you decide not to fight them they chase you, and chase you until you kill them. Yep - it's really super frusturating.

If you can get it for $5, then sure. I wouldn't pay any more than that!

honestly it was good. The graphics are amazing and i hope other games will have those graphics Or better ones. The only thing is that it does get repetitive and the gun controls arent as great as i thought they would be.

Pros: it will take a long time completing the whole game 0 - 100%.

- even if there are alot of characters to choose from. The only part you see (of your character) is their hands. Therefore characters dont really have any significance to the outcome of the story.

I wished to see more variety, especially alongside the games amazing visuals, but overall it was good.

No, there are too many great games out there to waste your money on something so mediocre. Unless you can find it in a bargain bin for $15 or so. It's repetitive, bad AI, malaria, weapons are weak, malaria, constantly driving across the entire map isn't fun, malaria, and uhhh.... did I mention the stupid malaria mechanic?

Every quest feels exactly the same and really are when you think about it. It's too bad since the game has alot of potental. Some mods could really make it into a good game but I doubt that FC2 is too mod friendly do to the insane DRM (another reason not to purchace FC2). I could be wrong about the mods since I never really looked into it.

Just fyi in case you weren't aware, Ubi removed the DRM with patch 1.03. Whoohoo!! No strings attached any longer, if you care about that sort of thing.

I actually started playing FC2 yesterday, got 3 hours of game time played then i un-installed and then shelved the case and CD, repetative crap if you ask me, beautiful game, don't get me wrong, but lacking alot in the gameplay values, this was more of a graphical benchmark game.Protentus

playing Far Cry 2 is like playing a hack n' slash RPG, yet without leveling up and loots, only with limited weapon upgrades. or an open world treasure hunt JRPG (however, there's only one type of treasure) without a colorful story.

Wrong. FarCry 2 uses the Dunia Engine.

As many issues as FC2 has, it's to me a somewhat fascinating game, in it's reference to Heart of Darkness and some of the game concepts that is. It's not perfect, but there are some rather compelling moments for me when I play it.

Anyways, it's a great game, I would have recommended it 2 years ago when it came out, but now there are way more interesting games to get for the same price or above, maybe save and buy one of the new games like:

- Blackops

- Brink

- Bioshock Infinite. (Great Game from 1-3) personal reference.

So yea it's your choice really, it's a good buy, but kind of outdated, I stopped playing the online multiplayer like 1 year ago, it was really fun. But I do not think anyone play online anymore.

If you think a few hours of relative fun and likely subsequent disappointment is worth paying for, give it a try. I got it for 10 euros, which is really the most I'd pay for such a game. Now you can find it for 5-6, so if you wanna try it I guess you should for that amount of money.

it's a beautiful looking game maxed out graphics.

gameplay is kinda meh but it's cheap enough now.

there's not really alot of open world shooters out there.

Worst game ever made 30 bullets in the face to kill sum1. Respawning every 5mins. Attacked every 2min while all the time doing the same old crap over and over again.
