Youtube link. On the site is says that's PC gameplay.
I hope we can turn off the interface, especially the big YOU'RE SHOT FROM THIS DIRECTION markers...

Personally I am fairly impressed. I think it could be really awesome :).
Agreed about the interface though.
September is a long ways away, but this really does look amazing. I'll definitely have to upgrade my rig to play this though, which judging from this video won't be cheap if I want to run it well.BurntWithWater
I wonder how hard it will be to run. I have a pretty nice rig, but some games certainly can be a pain to run regardless. I cannot imagine it will be any tougher than BF3 though, so I think i am good.

I think if you can run BF3 you'll have no problems running this hahaI kinda like the quirky visual style of the game. It doesn't look very impressive though. As for the gameplay, that looks very linear and on-rails. Something I really dislike. I wish they would make a proper sequel to Far Cry or Crysis with an open world done right. Crysis gave a nice medium between completely open (like a Skyrim or FC2 type sandbox) and a more focussed and driven design. I'd like something close to Crysis' level design only a bit more expansive.

I'm really looking forward to it, I've always been a fan and it seems like they are stepping up their game since Farcry 2 which turned out sub par.
I hope it still has the healing system in FC2 where you took the bullets out of your arms and legs and stuff.
[QUOTE="MacBoomStick"]Loved that. Shot in the arm? No big deal, I'll just pop my finger through the wound and all is well :PI hope it still has the healing system in FC2 where you took the bullets out of your arms and legs and stuff.

Some of those animations looked SO PAINFUL!
I liked all that stuff - the health system, the buddies, the weapon degradation, ammo exploding, malaria, rockets misfiring, the fire and weather systems... I loved the randomness.
"Trying to do things a little differently" he says.
Yeah, my ass. This looks like the same generic, scripted Michael Bay crap to me that i've seen a million times, tough the beautiful visuals impressed me. The last FPS to do things differently was STALKER, and nothing ever since has done anything.
Only a French Canadian would think huge white arrows indicating where you are shot from would be a good idea. Looks good otherwise.
I play Trackmania 2 on a server with a Ubisoft programmer, maybe if I yell at him enough he'll do something about it
FOV once again looks terrible. No FOV slider = No buy.
I'm so sick of games not having something as simple as a FOV slider. I just don't get it. Tired of not being able to play multi-plats because of a claustrophobic, motion sickness-inducing FOV. I barley made it through the Darkness 2 demo for that reason.
And those hit markers are beyond annoying.
Very good looking, looks like it'll be fun to play but not a ground breaking leap forward like Far Cry 1. I hope the campaign's as long as Far Cry's - a good 20 hour playthrough and constantly challenging.
visually it reminds me of the original.
looks pretty good but so did far cry 2 at this stage. fool me once...
Macutchi
Pretty much exactly what I think. FC2 had absolutely stunning trailers coming up with its release....then I played the game. No trailer or gameplay video I see will suade me until I see player reviews weeks after release. After all as you stated "fool me once...".

Yes it is, check out the video description on IGN.
Then, why is a gamepad being used, to play an FPS, on PC. o.O Maybe they know that some people care a lot about graphics and when those people see "360" gameplay that looks good they will buy it.[QUOTE="Baranga"][QUOTE="mep69"]That is not PC gameplay you Re.... i mean stupidC_Rule

Then, why is a gamepad being used, to play an FPS, on PC. o.OProbably so they can show that the gunplay works fine on a gamepad and that the game is designed to work well across all systems.
I know for RAGE the designers had to use gamepads in testing a lot so that they wouldn't end up with a Payday situation where the console versions were significantly gimped because they only did all the work on PC versions with keyboard and mouse.
Will this have the awesome map editor like the second game?
firefluff3
I think that's a double edged sword, since having the awesome map editor means having a multiplayer mode that probably won't be great or suck up my time next to games like Battlefield 3.
Hopefully they offer some sweet inFamous 2 styled mission creator, or at the very least some decent mod support.

The very first thing I noticed about this video:
HORRIBLE FOV.
It's The Darkness 2 all over again. How can people stand playing games like this?
Why is everyone complaining about the FOV? I didn't notice anything off... ??

If you don't notice it, it's probably because you don't have a thorough understanding of the problem itself and how it negatively affects your overall experience, especially on large monitors. In this case, it's as if you have NO peripheral vision. Your view is zoomed in to the point of not being able to see much to the left and right of you and your weapon takes up nearly a third of the screen which compounds the problem.
Here's an excellent video describing problems with poor Field of View settings and why developers simply must include options to change them:

It looks like Far Cry 3's FoV value is set somewhere around 60 or 65, whereas the optimal value for larger monitors is roughly 90-95+.
Hmm. I could definitely see where having a larger field of view would help out a lot. I've just never really had an issue with it either way. If a game is fun, I couldn't care less about how much I can see on screen. Also, I don't use a huge monitor. I play on a 17" laptop, and the biggest screen I've ever used was the 19" monitor with my old desktop. =P
visually it reminds me of the original.

I haven't played either FC, but with everyone complaining about the second one, I'm surprised people are lining up for the third one.
First thing I noticed about the video.
IT LOOKED FUN
I should stay off day one buys, but I cannot resist this.

I totally don't care about that. I get used to it in like five seconds, and I played Quake 3/Live with a FOV of 120.
