Was Jack Carver the Jackal from Far Cry 2? I've never finished that game so I'm not sure if you eventually kill him or if he was left alive, and does Jack Carver have any relation at all to the game Far Cry 3?

Also, when are you able to unlock the second half of the map?

Far cry 2 and 3 are completely different, IIRC. And you unlock the second map during the story, around the 26th mission (of the 38, according to the hand book)

I don't think any of the sequels have anything to do with the first game. They are just named as such because of stupid branding.

And Far Cry Insticts Predator had Jack Carver as the main character too.

I really don't think 'I killed the main villain' is a spoiler.

How was I suppose to know that he was the main villan? Am I suppose to assume that all the bad guys die at the end of a video game?

Quite a few, it goes a bit quicker though just because there is far less hand holding that late in the game. You also get all the high tier weapons now.

Far Cry 2 and 3 has nothing to do with Far Cry 1. I think Crytek owns that character, rather than Ubi.

Main villian you say? He asked how many missions to go after Vaas, so the game continues after killing him. So maybe he isn't the main villian then? Awesome.....

The Far Cry games themselves are different from each other. The trademark of the name is basically promoting "open world sandbox FPS with lush jungles, savannahs, deserts and other interesting environments, all which can also be made by the player using the editor".

Isn't spoiling something this big on a game this new a moddable offense?

Actually, they don't, Ubisoft just didn't find Carver to be a very interesting character and they even asked if people liked him or if he was memorable (most people did not like him).

Carver really isn't that great of a character, I like his background and the fact that it makes him capable of doing what he does, but his personality is incredibly cheesy and I blame his refusal to remove that stupid shirt for why all the AI could aimbot him from 10 miles away while he sits inside a concrete building.

Having a terrible voice actor didn't help either.

As soon as he opened his mouth I remembered why protagonists are often silent.

Jason Brody in FC3 is also far too talkative, but unlike Carver his voice actor and lines aren't ear gratingly cheesy.

In Far Cry 1, yes. In Instincts he had a pretty badass voice actor. I love the Instincts Jack Carver.
