There are over 600 still playing, and probably a hel of alot more than that if I checked in the evening since I'm in the UK and it's 9:30am here and the yanks are asleep. Don't wake the sleeping beast or your in for trouble!

I have no idea how the BF1942 community is these days. It could be that games are taken very seriously like they were a few years ago in my day with it, or it could be a complete crazy house with everyone just messing around not really caring about it.

You could always give it a try and see if you really want to play it.

System Shock 2. I recently started playing BioShock again, and after about two hours I asked myself why am I playing BioShock again when I can play System Shock 2 again? and now I am playing System Shock 2 again.
