Hey guys, as the title says, what is your favorite pc game set in a post apocalyptic environment.
Mine is Metro 2033, now im looking for more apocalypsy type games :D

The S.TA.L.K.E.R. series is post apoc. The game play is enhanced a lot through the use of mods and it advised to used mods.
I am going to go with an oldie here that most probably have never heard of. The game is Terminator Future Shock (Bethesda) and it's add on Skynet. The graphics are naturally atrocious compared to today's offerings but hey this game was released in 1995. No game to date has ever captured a truer feeling of nuclear devastation as Terminator Future Shock. I really wish they would update it that would get me excited about computer gaming again.

From my understanding it wasn't a post apocalyptic world, but a nuclear event that changed Pripyat/Chernobyl. Nonetheless still fun series.
This goes without saying. Fallout 2 is superior to all.Apocalyptic game from this gen or any gen?
If it is from any gen I have to go with Fallout 2.

about post-apocalyptic games...do we have any other choices than fallouts or stalker?4A Games made Metro 2033. GSC made S.T.A.L.K.E.R.metro 2033 is from the developer who made stalker.
so, in a sense, there is only stalker or fallout.chapman86
They were published by the same company, THQ, though.
it's not post apoc? it's set in Chernobyl.Nibroc420Set in a post APOC Chernobyl.
What else would you call something like that that takes place in a setting that was caused by the explosion of a NUCLEAR REACTOR?!
A game setting doesn't have to encompass the whole earth to be considered post apoc.
Fallout series, without doubt.
If I had to pick just one, I'd probably say Fallout 3, because I found it more immersive.
Fallout 1,2 and tatics, didn't like 3 tho, the whole stalker serie is nice too tho it's more like a regional post apocaliptic situation.
I am gonna be flamed but, fallout 3. it does the post apocalyptic element better than any other game outhere, especially level design and atmopsphere.dakan45Not flaming but...Fallout and Fallout 2 were much better ;p Fallout 3 was decent though.

I dont dissagree on game factor but as another user said fallout 3 was more immersive. The level design, the sound and the way some monsters looked gave a much more believable post apocalyptic element. It gave a much better dessolation feeling the hrd gave a much more dark element to the game. Washington dc gave me a sad feeling of what the world came into, to destroy the cvilazation and turn everything into a ruined city. While fallout 2 was a better game, i was not traveling in the wasteland and looking at the sun, and the wreckage. This does not have to do with graphics, it has to do with immersion. For example i was not immersed in stalker because it did not felt right to me, for example in the movie stalker everything was green (the grass) and they moved in large areas. Also i liked cod4 chernobyl level more, i think it had better atmosphere. As i said it does not have to do with graphics it has to do with nailing the post apocalyptic element. Atleast for me.
Fallout 3 has been the most enjoyable for me, I played through all of the side quests, main quest, then DLC and I still wanted to play more after that.

What was believable in a crowded, unlooted landscape where electricity and computers still work?:P
The Pitt DLC was great, it was the only part of the game that came close to the greatness of the originals.
I think you must be in the wrong thread, Borderlands isn't Post Apocalyptic.... Borderlands anybody?

Fallout 1 or 2 (which one I like better usually depends on the day of the week). I can't think of any other (somewhat modern) game that even comes close to those two (well, there's Wasteland but it's pretty old and I doubt too many here have played it). At any rate, I'll pick one of those two and today, since I can only choose one, I'll tilt a bit towards the original Fallout (it's a little grittier than FO2 although both are truly great RPGs unlike the last, sequel in name only, incarnation of the game).
[QUOTE="kieranb2000"][QUOTE="matty_patty1232"]I think you must be in the wrong thread, Borderlands isn't Post Apocalyptic. What exactly is the definition of post apocalyptic because neither blood omen 2 sounds post apocalyptic to me. I believe Post Apocalyptic means exactly what it says, a game that takes place after an Apocalypse. Borderlands definitely didn't, and I'm pretty sure Blood Omen 2 didn't either. I'm not sure, I took up drinking to kill off the brain-cells that held all my memories about that awful game.... Borderlands anybody?

Oh my god! I remember that game! One of the very few Terminator games done right! Now that is definitely post-apocalyptic. Also it was pretty damn terrifying at the time. The creaking of the metal robots before they came into view always send me into nervousness wondering if my weapons would be good enough to kill them :)I am going to go with an oldie here that most probably have never heard of. I understand what happened in Chernobyl and the events in S.T.A.L.K.E.R are definitely not post-apoc I'm gonna have to say Fallout.Yeah i know you dislike fallout 3 alot :( Lets not destroy the moment. But i got a question too, how come it was the same in the previous fallout games? Infact i remember looting the npcs houses infront their eyes and they didnt give a damn for most of the time.dakan45
At least computers weren't working everywhere:P

Stalker's supposed to be post-apoc. One of the main taglines is "Man made hell". The Zone is supposed to be a pocket of post-apocalyptic landscape. Normal life ended there.
Fallout 2
