Just finished playing. Not a bad game but 2 things that really annoyed me is the freaking letterbox (16:9 aspect ratio) and the HUD. Those to things make the game feel very claustrophobic which I hate. Didn't scare me and graphics aren't the best but overall its pretty fun.

Just my 2 cents on the demo :)

Edit: Oh and for those complaining the download is too slow or it stopped get DownThemAll!, its a download accelerator add-on for firefox.

i don't get this Internet stuff i have a Internet plan that is SUPER FAST ADSL (1.5Mbps) and it always downloads every thing at 150kb/s

yea i just played through. runs smooth on my pc at max settings at 1920x1200 with 2xAA. I think it looks stunning and they added some really nice particle effects. The whole alma stuff when she tends to creep u out and pop up out of nowhere has been amplified alot. Its a little more gory and in your face more and the poltergeist stuff is cool. The only bad thing about the demo is there isnt just enough blood. But shooting some ones headoff is always satisfying, so is shotgunning some one to pieces and seeing thier body explode,although thats the same as FEAR it just looks a whole lot better this time. Most of the environment is destructible aswell especially inside

oh and does anyone know if the Australian version is going to b modified at all??

So, 16:10 resolutions are available and properly supported? I was a little concerned about that after reading another poster's impressions about the annoyance of a 16:9 aspect ratio.

Glad to read these by the way since I likely won't get around to trying the demo for a few days, however, this is a game I've been heavily looking forward to (Monolith typically rocks!).

I was majorly disappointed by the demo for several reasons.

1: Black bars on top and bottom.

2: NO LEAN FUNCTION! Are you serious? Even if this was a port, how hard is it to add a lean function? Even Call of Duty games have them!

3: Weapons didn't have the same punch and feel as in the first one.

4: The hud definitely cheapens the experience, because I feel "shielded" from the outside world. dgsag

Finally finished downloading and I tried it. 1600x1200 4xAA everything maxed, it runs pretty well (it should, it's a corridoor shooter...) But what the f is up with the letterbox? Don't tell me you can't scale it to 4:3! Goddammit... Well it wasn't that special. Shooting is meh (where's the lean keys?!) there were a few creepy moments but how can I feel scared when I have a shotgun and machine gun full of ammo? The mech-thing at the end made it even less scary. I don't think I'm gonna buy this one.. Feels too much like another goddamn CoD4-style shooter. I'm so sick of those...HenriH-42

It sounds like it does have Assassin's Creed resolution syndrome then....CRAP. Although this is only the demo, it's very possible to also be in the full release.

Hmmm, alot of disappointing comments so far. This game should be all about great gunplay and atmosphere.
