That's alright. Well, just went ahead and got FEAR 2, plus a new copy of FEAR. Figured it'd be nice to have it in Steam, maybe play it again, plus, just saw that it also includes both the expansions for free, and I never played those. Also, saw that FEAR 3 was made by a different developer. Probably the reason for the mixed reviews... If someone gives me a stellar review of 3 on here before the sale ends, I'll pick it up, too.

You might as well get the FEAR 2 DLC as well. Dunno about you, but for a small price I'd have to grab it plus I like completing everything. Extraction Point is a great expansion, but I heard Perseus Mandate wasn't as good (more of the same, but no where near as polished.)
FEAR 3 is a very fun game, but remember it was built around the idea of co-op. Finished the game with a friend yesterday. Graphics were obviously the best of the series (but not PC focused like it should've been,) it has plenty of jump scares (which is the only thing solo would be better for,) the sound is excellent (can hear some really spooky sh*t at times,) and playing as Fettel is really fun. The enemies are enjoyable encounters, although I don't think they used the environment to their advantage like they do in FEAR 1.
As for the bad, you can't switch players in co-op (host will always be Point Man,) when going solo you have to beat a mission as Point Man before playing as Fettel, there is a encounter with a certain enemy near the end that the game doesn't really state what you should be doing (shoot, run away, melee it, what am I supposed to do?,) the game is kinda short, no in-game text chat, and the gunplay isn't as good as FEAR 1 (dunno about 2. I thought there should've been more guns or different ones with different firing modes like full auto or burst. The least they could've done is give us more ammo or an ammo box throughout the game, or let us keep ammo from guns that we aren't using.)
For not being their own franchise, Day 1 did one hell of a job living up to the FEAR name imo. For 5 bucks the game is a steal even if you're planning on going solo.
