Alright! The 100th remake of this same game!

It's funny how people complain a game (let's take CoD for this example) doesn't innovate on it's next iteration, but those same people buy the 100th remake of this one single game over and over.Have fun with the emo-fest in HD I guess.

At least Squeenix is working on a new IP for a change, but still... let this cash-cow die already and move on.

hopefully it comes to steam, it says it has achievements, which might be a good incentive to give it a playthrough again. :)

I'll probably be buying it since I missed out on it and it was long out of stores by the time I started playing video games.

I will cop, my ff7 for ps1 is messed up and I never got hte previous pc version of this game.

I do have it on psn netwrok but still, it would be nice to have on pc :P

Are we in a time warp? I could have sworn I already played FF VII on my PC and it was crap. It was a bad port of an even worse game. This industry is becoming more and more a parody of Hollywood with its endless parade or reboots, remakes, and sequels.

If they don't mess up the DRM I'll grab it just to mod the game and play through it again, otherwise not interested.

First of all, it's not a remake. It's not even a remastered version. It's a digital release. It's kinda weird that you'd say that this game has been remade 100 times... This game is so well known for not having been remade even though lots of people keep begging for it.

By the way, if you have a PS3, you might want to get that version, PC version is not very good apparently.

Considering it was already released for the PC and there's a good handful of mods to improve the graphics and make it playable on modern systems, it's ridiculously balls out crazy that they aren't even remaking some aspects of the graphics with this new release. And if there's no one interested to mod it, then the previous, older, release will be superior. What the f*ck is going on with Square Enix?

No Steam makes me doubt purchasing it.

I've played the game and found nothing that was SOOOOO compelling. I'm sorry, but Chrono Trigger has a much better character developpement, storyline, gameplay, frankly everything about it was better. The only reason why it wasn't as famous as FF7 is cause it didn't bear the name Final Fantasy. FF7 doesn't deserve the fame it gets.

At that point, it becomes personal preference. Some people like FFVI a lot more, other like FFVIII more. Personally, I love all those games, but I prefer FFVII because the atmosphere created by the storyline, the music, the environment and the characters blend together into a masterpiece.

Sucks it is not coming to steam but I like the idea of having it on my PC to play. I m sure SE is doing this since the ps1 version is expsensive and not all kids have a ps3 since most have a 360 but with everyone having a PC and the requirements being rather low they could get more new people to play it.

One of the best games ever made alongside the glorious landmark milestone genre-conquering colossus - World of Warcraft.

Does anybody know if any other FFs are coming to PC? It would be neat if more of them got released. I missed out on all of them due to being too young/not owning certain consoles. Looks like this may be a perfect opportunity to finally get into the series.

I've heard mixed opinions of all of them. There are people that have said that 8 was one of the best ones.

FFVIII has its flaws, the draw system is boring and painful, the characters are very emotional, the story as a whole isn't that good, but each individual quest is pretty well done. The music is amazing, the graphics are good, the atmosphere is pretty good. Overall, I found it quite an enjoyable experience.

FFIX is completely different, it has a totally different atmosphere and the story isn't that good, but the backgrounds are superb just like pretty much any FF game. Combat is mostly about trying to steal as many items from a boss without being killed. You also need to check every corner for items, which can be annoying but it does promote exploration.

FFX is a whole different story. The combat is very easy but it has some puzzles incorporated into temples that can be a bit time consuming. The story is brilliant, it's fantastic from start to finish, and the music is amazing as well.

However after the first disk the story goes downhill, very fast. The orphanage part has to be one of the most retarded "plot twists" I've ever witnessed in a game.

I wouldn't exactly be able to give you my own opinion on any of them since I know absolutely nothing about the series. I just think that Final Fantasy 7 is a good place for me to start based on the things I've heard about it. I doubt Square Enix will continue to re-release their games like this though since they're getting a lot of complaints.
