Final Fantasy VII Coming to PC - Announcement Trailer

I'm also puzzled. I'd love an excuse to play this game again but that trailer doesn't really give me one. Are they doing a proper HD update?

If all of FF8 was like the first disk it would have been a 10/10 hands down.

However after the first disk the story goes downhill, very fast. The orphanage part has to be one of the most retarded "plot twists" I've ever witnessed in a game.

It's a Re-release.

You really can't find the PC version anymore, and the game used is about $120.

Right so apparently it's going to have an ingame button whereby you can purchase stat/gil upgrades for real world cash. Think I'll pass.

i think you should at least try them, there are all kinds of opinions about them, but personally i loved FF VIII and FF IX. Comments like the one made by the wizardglass expect every sinngle game in the franchise to be 10/10, its true FF VIII had a weaker gameplay than the other FF, but is still a great game.

One of the best RPGs ever? Really? No, did you really just type that FF VII is one of the best RPGs ever? Too funny, man. Too funny.

Baldur's Gate the best RPG of all time? Nope, I wouldn't say (and never have said or even implied) that. With that said, Baldur's Gate, or any Infinity Engine game for that matter (even crap like Lionheart), are a hell of a lot better RPGs than every JRPG that has ever, and will ever, be made. I'm laughing myself silly that somebody actually had the stones to call FF VII, "one of the best RPGs ever made," and on a PC gaming forum no less.:P

Not a remake really. It's just the same PC port that was released a decade or so ago. I would only consider getting this (mentioned it 100 times already) if:

- They increased the screen resolution and texture size

- Replaced the god awful pc .midi tracks and actually used the psx soundtrack

I have no interest in achievements or cloud saving or lol a character builder.

Disappointing. I don't even care about FF7 anymore, seeing this crappy re-release. The only change is that they enabled a higher resolution and slightly better lighting and effects. Woopdy doo.

I think Square got a little too excited. They heard the cries of the gamers demanding a remake and thought they could get away with just tweaking it a little and re-releasing it.

They should have rebuilt the whole game from scratch IMO. Models, maps, real full orchestral soundtrack.

I don't care how good FF7 was originally, this is just unacceptable. I'm thinking of reconsidering what my favorite game was..

super misleading, I still own the FF7 PC game. I mean its great they put the disks back in production but I dont think this warrents a announcement trailer.

First of all, it's not a remake. It's not even a remastered version. It's a digital release. It's kinda weird that you'd say that this game has been remade 100 times... This game is so well known for not having been remade even though lots of people keep begging for it.

By the way, if you have a PS3, you might want to get that version, PC version is not very good apparently.
