Im using it now and i love it, but all colors looks a bit washed out, and the text is blurry?
To me it looks like running a diffrent resolution than native, perhaps even AA, i dont know it looks a bit unsharp, like an interlaced resolution or something.

Do you have an ATI video card with MLAA enabled?

Negative, an gtx460. :( It's weird, i just updated the 3.6 to 4 and the screen became blurry. Dont anyone else noticed this?Hrm, theres a diffrence alright, i even checked in the controlpanel and disabled anything there for FF.
IE8 to the left, FF4 to the right.
From the picture it looks like the text is clearly much more readable on the IE than on the FF, contrl mousewheel = no diffrence the text is still blurry and the size dont matter it looks "uncrisp" anyway. :(

They solved it by disabling hardware acceleration or something like that.Im using it now and i love it, but all colors looks a bit washed out, and the text is blurry?

Turn up the sharpness on your monitor.

Look on the picture I link'ed they're taken next to eachother, It clearly shows the diffrence. there is a diffrence within the program that make text blurry compared to the older v3.6 version and compared next to next to IE 8. Something is wrong and its not my monitor, i like the more slimmed FF but the main thing you do with a browser is reading text to me this is unacceptable. On the thumb i provided, click it and see for yourself. :)^I know is not, I've seen it, but thats another solution to compensate for certain apps. The lazy way to fix it :)

Might be something to your issue but as far as my experience goes i don't have it.Also a GTX460 and just upgraded to Firefox 4. I do notice the text looks a little blurry on some sites with non-boldface text. This isn't a problem on every site though, and the textbox I'm typing in now, the text looks fine. Even some sites I've tested with non-boldface text look fine. Seems to vary based on the font.
Tried it yesterday. It is good but its not as fast loading up or loading pages compared to Chrome.
Will definately use it as my backup browser.
[QUOTE="Daytona_178"]And that's all FireFox will ever be.... Everyone's backup browser... Poor FF. :( Well there are still plenty of FF fanboys who will keep using it irrelevant of how much another browser beats it. Thing is I use Chrome because of the following: Fastest to load up, fastest web page loading, Each tab is its own process so if it crashes the others are fine, each plugin runs in its own enviroment so if it crashes the page is still fine, the easiest add-on manager which does not need to restart to install them, auto-flash & other plugins updated without you knowing, Chrome is also updated without you knowing, minimalistic UI, Goggle account sync for bookmakrs, addons, passwords, etc.Tried it yesterday. It is good but its not as fast loading up or loading pages compared to Chrome.
Will definately use it as my backup browser.

i have used opera too. i think it loads way faster than FF. also i liked 'speed dial' very much. the only thing i hate about opera is that all versions of opera above 10.10, create so many garbage files in my temp folder. i will clear my cookies, browsing but they wont go. i got pretty much sick of all the cleaning of temp folder every few days. have been using FF 4 beta 11 for few days. it looks okay
EDIT: i just checked out chromes newest. its faster than FF too. so i guess i will switch back to opera or chrome.
Chrome has both of those.Anyone know how to check whether certain addons are compatible? I can't live without NoScript and AdBlock Plus.

Awesome over 8.2 million downloads and counting. Its showing the strain I was downloading the 15mb update through the browser at 5.5kb/sec;)
Got the direct download instead.

Both are working for me on Firefox 4.
[QUOTE="Bozanimal"]Chrome has both of those. If not giggle were so creapy i would use it, i already use it in my phone (android) and that scares the crap outta me. :PAnyone know how to check whether certain addons are compatible? I can't live without NoScript and AdBlock Plus.

I hope they've eliminated the occasional bog down issues. That is so freaking annoying. It's the only thing that I don't like about the browser. It slows to a crawl sometimes.
If it ain't broke don't fix it. I'll be sticking with Firefox 3.5 for a while. Chrome and new versions of Firefox lack some add-ons I can't live without. Speed is not an issue if you have an SSD

i have a 5850 and after firefox 4 is running for a while, my gpu starts working 100% and the clocks are maxed. this continues after i close the browser and i have to reboot to get it back to normal.
And that's all FireFox will ever be.... Everyone's backup browser... Poor FF. :(Its my main browser Chrome lacks one crucial feature for me being able to select tabs and then rapidly go through them using left and right arrows keys. I was pissed when a firefox update took out the ability to that simply by double clicking on a tab so i was staying on an old version for a while but found a work around to it so i updated. Chrome is nice but i prefer firefox and I have it customized with addons to how i like.C_Rule
Palemoon + No script + ad block plus + better privacy... Absolutely destroys google chrome.
runs faster, way better web security, and overall just better in my opinion.
anyone with AMD cards using it? i posted earlier about the GPU activity in CCC being stuck at 99% after a while but at the time i wasnt sure it was a FF problem. i can replicate the problem in firefox 4 very consistently using the demos on mozillas website (the 360 degree video demo especially). for a while GPu activity will be as expected then it shoots up to 99% and a restart or putting the PC to sleep is required to get it back to normal. closing FF doesnt do a thing for it. ive also tried disabeling the hardware acceleration in FF but that doesnt make a difference either. ive been testing it all day today though. ive been using chrome and enabled the GPU acceleration in it for good measure. ive gone to the same sites (though the 360 degree vid doesnt work in chrome) and thrown all the HTML5 i can at it. the GPU has been behaving normally. ive tried a few games also and everything is working as expected. but i loaded up FF once and within 10 mins the problem came up. poking around dinternet many of the people who are reporting the problem are also using FF4 or a FF4 beta. i have a 5850 and have seen this problem in 11.1 and 11.2 (i removed 11.1 first before installing 11.2). so im just wondering if there are other AMD GPU users here that are having the same problem? if there are, were you beta users also or is it a fresh install of FF4?osan0
same problem, sticking with chrome for now
[QUOTE="istuffedsunny"]An SSD wont increase web page loading time. C'mon, we are talking fractions of milliseconds these days, I don't think people really care about the speed of loading the webpages anymore because there is only so much they can do, they care about the smoothness of the browsing experience. If it ain't broke don't fix it. Mine is at 0% try running some tech demos on mozillas website..especially the video demos. https://demos.mozilla.org/en-US/ it doesnt happen immediately..it can take a few mins to kick in. i can consistently replicate the problem using the 360 degree vid sample. AMD are now aware of it now though and have been able to replicate it on their test systems. http://www.rage3d.com/board/showthread.php?p=1336533210 hopefully itll be fixed in their next driver release or the next version of firefox (whichever software is causing the problem). Please Log In to post.
