They are both Compaqs.

21in 1600x1200 at 75MHz vs 17in 1600x1200 at 65Mhz

Which one do yuo think offers the greatest image quality. The 75 is much bigger but its round and the 65 is flat but its smaller and has lower refresh rate.

Which one should i get?

The refresh rate of 65Hz on the 17" is going to suck, the screen is going to flicker under most conditions. The picture quality on the 21" is going to be let down by the fact the screen is rounded. Sure after a while you eyes will adjust to it _BUT_ good quality LCD monitors are so cheap now, why would anyone want a low end CRT? I understand graphics professionals buying high quality CRTs but this just seems silly to me.

See I get these 2 monitors for FREE. Plus I hate LCDs. They have crappy refresh rate even though you cant really notice it and the have crappy resolutions )and fixed res at that= plus I had a Sony LCD once and the freaking pixels died on it after a year. It had 2 white dots on the screen which was anoying and they are to fragile.

A paine in the balls to clean and Im the kind of guy that punches his monitor when his pissed :D

So I should go for the Flat Screen? You cant really notice the low rate when gaming. Only on steady situations like on desktop.

I'd never use a CRT with less than 85Hz refersh rate. I know you don't want to hear it but both of those monitors suck!

The 21" is pretty much garbage due to it being round so you can take that out of the equation.

As for the 17" well it does 16x12 at 65Hz.Now 65Hz even with games is really low but you dont have to play at that res on a 17".See if the monitor supports a good refresh rate at 1280x960 cuz that's the maximum you wanna go on a 17".

And if you are getting both for free then why not try both and see what gives a more enjoyable gaming experience?

And I agree with the above poster, you really shouldnt be gaming on a low-end CRT.
