No not illegal, but I remember all the giveaways on free USB keys or other little gadgets from random sites. And as soon as it shows up on a blog, a forum, or a site like Digg, they get flooded with massive requests and end up not shipping them out. Buy.com is much bigger than those though (except for the Microsoft flash drive freebie when they cancelled everybody's), and probably won't notice a couple dozen free orders going out the door.

from what i see from it, its actually google giving the 10.00 to buy.com.. and the 10 bucks is part of a promotion so its not like they would take that off before the expiration. As long as buy.com is making money from it im sure they dont care.
