Played on Advanced and I'm not very excited about this game. It's not scary at all. Seeing friendlies through walls, clipping right through friendly AI, major object highlights and 'in yo face' popup arrows pointing to objects is too A.D.D. for my taste.
As I feared(sic), this game is nothing but a zombie themed Serious Sam. Which is ok for mindless duck hunt type shooting. But in today's crowd of shooters, I expect or personally demand more depth.
I played tons of this game 14 years ago and it was called playing coop Doom with my friends. Then Serious Sam did it again. Now we have L4D. This game brings virtually nothing new, unique or interesting to me besides the specific theme of course.
No command system in single player.
No dodge moves.
No creative weapons.
No iron sights.
Body physics seem canned.
No quick save.
Only some weapons have flashlights?
WTF is the walk(shift) button ever needed for?
Action is so blistering fast one can't even enjoy it.
I just don't see the hype, appeal or much fun in this one. VeryBumpy
Try it on expert

Wow....figured one of you would pop in. It really doesn't sound like you have any idea what L4D is about, which is a real shame. Scary? Who ever said this game was supposed to be scary? However it does have TONS of "Oh SH**" moments. I would go through your list of complaints and try to address them, but then I saw you were complaining about no quick save....seriously? Wait don't tell me you're playing it on single player.... ugh.

It's not a cooperative game for nothing. Try playing with friends, if you didn't feel inspired by the single player.
VeryBumpy is a dude who can not enjoy casual games, he must have his extremely well develop games. Every game must have soo much work and blood put into it. He also a guy who you can not make friends with for very long till he try to back-stab you and by what he have put down, his very slow pace games are his favorite.
The Zombies are suppose to be freaking fast Dude, like from 28 days later zombies, if you don't like it then go back playing your Civilization games.
geez, arn't viedo games suppose to be fun???? what has happen to some gamers these days?
Blisteringly fast? Try playing on Expert dude...
Anyway, I give the demo a 9.5, and I'm sure the full game will probably even earn a 10 (from me).
Not everyone is gonna love this game, no need to be asinine towards the people that don't...
I give the game a. 8.5, but I have only played on single player so far. I'm sure it will be at least a 9 playing coop with my friends. Yea, I love zombies.

You NEED to play online to get the best out of this game.Â
Not since Doom have I had as much *fun* playing a shooter.foxhound_fox
There trully isn't a higher praise possible. Pure...unadaultered...fun.
Now if they'd be so kind to release both demos (PC/360), I'd be a happy man. I need to see if my wife will want to play (360 purchase) or not (PC purchase). Although I may just wait for the inevitable "Steam Holiday Blowout Sale" that's sure to happen for the PC version...Steam+Holidays = win. Â
Just asking... when does the public demo come out?smokeydabear076
If what I'm hearing is correct (I grabbed the pre-order demo), it's already out to the public. Try restarting Steam if you're having trouble.

Ok, thanks. I tired downloading it, but it wouldn't work.. I guess I'll try it again.Played on Advanced and I'm not very excited about this game. It's not scary at all. Play on expert with no friendly AI. Enjoy being scared.
Anyways, it gets a 10 from me.
