I have a bunch of folk I know and we want to have some fun occasionally. Many of them arent gamers. So can you suggest some good, free online multiplayer? Dont expect the folk to have high end machines. Tell me a game which will run on integrated graphics. The game shouldnt be complex at all as many golk are non gamers. It should be easy to pick up and play. Ofcourse it should be fun to play in its gameplay. We dont care about the graphics. Demos are fine.

I am primarily looking for a first person shooter but other games are alright as they are easy to play and fun.

I would recommend you F.E.A.R. combat, but that won't run on your machine most likely. I don't know of any other good multiplayer FPS games that are free.

Yeah, Soldier of Fortune 2 multiplayer demo is actually quite fun. Try the Halo demo. Lots of people on that. Also, you might want to try Battlefield 1942 demo. Warsow isn't that bad. Enemy Territory isn't that bad and there is a mod for it called TrueCombat:Elite which is pretty fun also. If you need anymore tell me and I'll probably think up of some more good ones.

Try Quake Live. It's basically a remake of the enitre Quake 3 Arena game and it's ENTIRELY free. IF you haven't tried Quake 3, then you are truly missing out. One of the funnest multiplayer games ever created and your computer WILL run it no problem.

gamespot is not letting me edit my prior post but quake 3 has an mp demo (im pretty sure), and if not, quake live is coming out. its free, browser based. BF: heroes comes out soon. if you can get your friends to buy CS thats always a good time.

Isn't there a free Wolfenstein game (Return to Castle Wolfenstein or something like that?) that still has a large multiplayer community?

yeah.. if you loved Q3 you'll LOOOOOOVE this, especially being free. it is pretty hard to get into though, as i mentioned.. i think it's mostly doing invites from current members, and those are hard to come by. sorta like Mythos.

oh yeah, and Battlefield: Heroes is set for a summer release date too. it'll have pretty low system reqs, like pentium 3 and onboard graphics minimum or something.

Warrock is good, its a shooting game where you can buy weapons with a fake currency, it also has tanks, planes, helis, cars and boats you can drive, the game itself is free but you can spend real money to buy different weapons ect. I think it can run on almost any computer.

Counterstrike might run on an old video card. Honestly though, even the low-end cards are ultra cheap these days.

hahaha.. no. tf2 did not invent the war propaganda art style from the early 1900's, nor did it invent bf1942-style gameplay nor custom avatars and unlocks.
