I doubt MSDN copies count. :P
My parents were responsible for getting Windows 98/XP for me and I've been using the MSDN programme for upgrades since attending Uni.
I'll be out of uni by the time Windows 7 is out so won't have access to MSDN, if it's good looks like Windows 7 will be the first Microsoft OS I'll be paying for out my own pocket.
Trust me, the "free **** from MS" train is nowhere near stopped once you enter the workforce. Between stuff like the "Power Together" promo for Vista and copies handed out by your regional MS rep, you may not have everything you had as a student, but you'll still have more than enough software handed to you. (Unfortunately for me, I now work for a financial firm where accepting such things is strictly and explicitly disallowed, so it looks like I'll be paying for Windows 7.)
