Well I've never used Games for Windows Live before and there is a pretty good deal on there so Im curious if i should use it. You can get the entire GTA Series 75% off. I have a Steam account and really like it but I don't know what the pros and cons are about GFWL. Can i play games I download on GFWL on a different comp? Should i buy some of the games or pass?

I would pass because the steam summer sales are very soon. Besides, GWFL has an endless amount of problems.

I think you should pick them up. I've yet to have a problem with Games for Windows Live... I honestly believe that most people are just jumping on the hate bandwagon.

While some issues are fixed GFWL is still a pointless application that have more negative things then positive things about it. Everything from saves not working, GFWL causing the game to crash and much more. I will never use it because of one reason... They tried to charge money for it like Xbox live. I know people are stupid in general but when there was free better alternatives and better deals around and they STILL charged money for it and still have not improved that much... Well its just sad.

I'm pretty sure the service is free now, so if you wanna try the games at 75% off nows the best time no?

You're using it as a store- it'll work just fine. Those arguing against it will really have no reason, unless the game you want is cheaper elsewhere. The only thing I don't like about it is I can't figure out a good way to backup the installer files after downloading.

If you buy a GFWL game you need to be aware of the realistic possibility that the game will never work properly or it will take you so long to get it working that in the end you will be too frustrated to enjoy it. On top of that, you should be very wary of installing a client that requires a priest trained in exorcism to remove.

I only got one game from them which was age of empires 3. It works fine. But other people have reported many problems.

Steam is soo much better.

I own a few games for GFWL but I did have some issues getting version of GTA to work, GFWl just refused to update for a couple of days there then one morning it worked first time so be warned it does have some issues. I wouldn't pass up a good deal on it though; as I said I've only had problems with GTA and that game is a mess to be frank, but I would still prefer to stick to steam when possible.

It's always worked fine for me... None of my games have had any issues with it, but the whole GFWL interface is clunky, annoying and consolesque which are the 2 main reason why I don't really like using it that much... I'm always happy to hear a company ditching GFWL and going with Steam instead, kinda what Dawn of War II did afterwards...
