All the Counter-Strike versions. The high recoil guns, camping and having to fork out so much money for a good gun is NOT my cup of tea. Dunno why my mates luv tht game so much. But then they dont play any other fps! Haha :)
the entire battlefield series. the guns just don't sound and feel like powerfull weaponry that slaughters all who stand in your path. more like a pea shooter.
world of warcraft: when i started playing it the PvP contenct was just crap. and that i what i want most in a MMORPG: good PvP content.
WoW because its just so slow and tedious. Not sure how people can become addicted to this bore-fest. Many of my friends play it so I really wanted to get into it with them. Ive played through three 10 day trials and each time i get bored to tears. Stuff them, i'm going to play some counter-strike or warcraft 3 all by myself :)

While they were good, they were nothing special. And yes, when people played goldeneye, very few people had managed a LAN FPS game with 4 people. And yes, Halo, while having a great story, as a game was nothing special. You have to remember that especially at those times, console critics and PC critics keep to their own camps. Less so in the Halo era. They're also comparing the games to other CONSOLE offerings, not the overall picture
Both of those games are often cited as being some of the best FPSs of all time, and rightfully so. No FPS I've played to this day feels and plays as good as Halo. It may not be the most revolutionary game ever but it nailed the basic aspects of a shooter perfectly(the repetitive level design being an exception) and threw in a lot of clever, innovative features(recharging health, being able to throw grenades without switching weapons, melee attacks that are no longer used as a last resort weapon etc.) that all helped make the action that much more intense. Most people fail to acknowledge the innovations it brought because they weren't as obvious as those in, say, Half Life, but just look at how many shooters there are that are copying those aforementioned features. The AI is perfect, the vehicles are perfect, the weapons are perfect(even a simple gun like the assault rifle which we've seen countless times before has never felt as good as it does in Halo). Sure, by the end of the day, it's simply all about going around and killing bad guys, but so what? That's what shooters are all about. It simply expands upon the forbidden>

FFX, can't stand it. Storyline borrows too much and worse of all, the characters are bland. Tidus is the cliche prettyboy of anime fighting the ultimate evil, Yuna is the naive, unique girl that the main character always gets in the end and character development is practically non-existant. Hated it, plus the artwork is like a picasso painting. Why would you cut off half of your pantleg?
Counterstrike was okay for a few weeks. Then I noticed the massive population of 12 year old boys. More than half the servers are either Dust2 or Office.

The main reason PC gamers weren't impressed with Halo 1 is because of the awful port from X-box to PC. Also, in terms of peoples eyes, Halo wasn't really anything special as there were already many hardcore shooter games out there. Maybe Halo will redeem itself with the Vista version however of Halo 2
Half-Life (both of them) and Diablo 2. If they weren't so overhyped I could probably stand them but as for now, I hope the developers have a special place in hell for them.
Super Mario 64! bleh, what an aweful game!! horrid controls, ugly graphics and it doesnt even look like a mario game should. It was bad in 1996, and its 10 times worse now!!!! AWEFUL AWEFUL GAME!

WoW, Counter Strike (thought I play it in other houses), GTA:San Andreas (I loved Vice City, but SA's people reaction made me puke... hearing 10 years old kids talk about how they ran over old women in GTA is gross!), Half Life 2. And (I hate) the really annoying success of FF series, cause I didn't get what's the )#@(%* point of the series yet. How many games does it have?
 I don't know if it's been said before, but anything RTS, I hate it. I hate it to the bone. And the worst part is how all those stupid "nerd-wanna-be's" think they're so smart because they play RTS games. They suck!

I hear ya there.. I just bought GTA:SA just before the un-modified version was banned. I keep it in a nice little case seperate from my other games.. Who knows it may be worth cash in a few years.. considering music albums that were banned also rose in price through the years. I have to say I disliked all the GTA games post GTA2. I loved GTA1 n GTA2.. just couldn't "get into" the whole GTA3+ games.
Another game is WoW and GW. I am just not a MMO type person. So regardless, I just don't like MMORPGs in general.
Another type of game I don't really care for is regular strategy games.. (prolly because I get my butt handed to me every time, regardless of the game.. it can be Alpha Centuri, or Deadlock, or even Galactic Civ II.. I still get my butt whipped like a panzy... not fun for me.. not fun at all..
I do however enjoy RPGs (regular and hack/slash), RTS, FPS, and Simulators. I enjoy some adventure and puzzle games. I am very selective in my racing games.. and don't like sports games.. except for one.. NFL 2K1 on the Dreamcast.. but that is a console game.. so scratch that.. ;)

Each one is independant of the other.. I had that same reaction when I played FF1-FF3 (US versions), but I have to say that the FF series is a great one.. My favorite to this day is still FF2 (or FF4 if your Japanese) ;) Maybe true RPGs aren't your deal.. did you like the BG series?

hype? When it first came out everyone thought it sucked.. I remember guys in my clan telling me how awful the game was.. they had persistent crashes, jerky framerates.. etc.. but for me it ran great on my old Geforce 4 Ti 4200... P4 2.0. It was based on the source engine and dubbed the "cry engine", once it was "stolen"..then a article appeared about some Ubisoft offices getting "raided".. hmmm little fishy at the time. I personally loved it!
I have to agree with CS though.. it just didn't grip me like it did my step-brothers.. I was too involved with TFC to care about CS though..

I agree... I thought Halo was great on X-box.. but that is where it should have stayed. Much like Goldeneye on the N64.. if brought to the PC, it would have just killed it for many PC gamers

Did you play them at release, by chance? Then your justified... but when Deus Ex, Morrowind and some of the Dark Forces games came out they were revolutionary.. Course I thought Doom 1 killed the living hell out of Dark Forces 1.. I still liked running around with a blaster killing storm troopers..
I dont like FEAR and I dont like World of Warcraft. Oddly enough, many, many people love those games...darkface
