Games that use 2D graphics/ cartoon animation

I'm looking for a game that uses kind of cartoon graphics, but at the same time is relatively new. What I mean are games like Broken Sword, Monkey Island 3, World of Goo, Machinarium, and the likes. I'm just curious to know because it seems the cartoon graphics died off just as they were getting good. (Imagine Broken Sword with smooth animation, high-res graphics, etc)

Mhmm, the only thing i can think of is Murder at the Abbey.

And, Sam and Max season 1 or 2. If you still haven't played those get them.

The Whispered World is probably the best looking, but I think it is only in german at the time.

Thanks for some of the input. I'm mainly asking this because I find the artstyle can accomplish some things that 3D simply can't. The detail in Machinarium is amazing because it was only limited by the imagination and abilities of the artistic staff.
