Dragon Age - It's a BioWare RPG that's said to be the spiritual successor to Baldur's Gate and Baldur's Gate II....how can any Western RPG fan not be hyped for this game?
The Witcher - This is actually my most anticipated game this year.
Grey Matter - Jane Jensen's (creator of Gabriel Knight) return to gaming.
and although it's not a PC game.....Darksiders: Wrath of War.....I can't believe no one is talking about this....it looks to be a cross between God of War and Gears of War with a little Zelda sprinkled in.
Two games come to mind when I think about the original poster's question. The Witcher is one of them. The lackluster hype could be due to a poor marketing campaign and funds, though I'm still rather suspicious of the game's quality which could be a big concern with other people as well.
EDIT: Eh, got into rambling and forgot about the second game, which would be Star Wars Force Unleashed. People were really hyped up about this game awhile back, but new info was more scarce, and eventually people moved on. I'm still a bit reluctant to get too hyped up about it though, maybe a bit more information would be nice?
Another big factor that comes into play are all these blockbuster titles being released this holiday season. It's almost suicide to release lesser known games when the millions of gamers are salivating over the market behemoths, they certainly have less attention and time to spend "wanting" other games. :P
Divine Divinity 2. Sometimes I think I must be the only person in North America to have played and loved the first game, nevermind anticipating the second one... Seriously folks, play it. Stupid name, I know, but the game itself is great (voice acting aside)!
Oh, and NWN2: Mask of the Betrayer. Sure, the original game was buggy and full of flaws, but it's still the closest game to BG or Planescape to have come out in years. Reading the Obsidian forums and listening to the devs it's clear that they've taken a much more story oriented turn this time round, and personally, I can't wait to see what the guys at Obsidian can do if they really put their minds to it considering these are most of the same guys who made the two games I mentioned, Baldur's Gate and Planescape: Torment. Two of my favorite RPG's of all time!
Sins of a Solar Empire
Other than the occasional preview, no one seems to talk about it.
Sure, WiC may have gotten a 9.5 but Sins will get a 9.6!!!!!!!!!!!

Well there is a reason why NWN2 expansion isn't talked about.. The main was a HUGE disapointment for alot of fans, not only is it one of the biggest graphic hogs out there with hugely subpar visuals for what it needs to run, but it had immense bugs.. The single player was very very very linear to the point where there was no replay value.. lets not foget the brain dead AI for both enemies and allies alike (where the game cheats to try to make it harder for you), the game easy at best.. These guys were suppose to be the core that made Baldur's Gate 2...... A very difficult RPG in its own right...
I know that. I also hated the ending but nevertheless i'm hoping the expansion would fix things. I still had fun playing it. Anyway i'm anticipating the witcher the most. I don't like open-ended RPGs like Oblivion. I like RPGs that have great storyline and plot. NWN2's story was great but the ending really sucked hard.
Yeah I am not saying I want wide open space like Oblivion, I honestly hated that game as well.. But the game has to be some what open like baldur's gate 2 was, or at very least NWN1/KOTOR I at least had more choices in that game that made a difference then in NWN2.

Thats not too reasurring because they said the exact same thing for the original NWN2.. They said they focused on single player and story more then multiplayer..
