gaming keyboard and mouse?

Looking for a new keyboard and mouse for FPS games like CS. I was looking at the Razer Blackwidow but people be hatin so I was going to see what other options are out there. Plus, I really hate the green LEDs. If possible, I'd like to get something nice with Blue LEDs but not if it means getting something inferior. My 2nd choice was the Das Keyboards, they look to have a simple but clean design and the logo looks nice. Also, does mechanical vs non mechanical really make much of a differance or is it just a gimmick?

As for a mouse, I always hear about the Deathadder, but again, I hate the green. I was considering the 2012 version either the Black edition or going for the Blue LED regular one, are they still good mice compared to the 2013?

As for keyboards yes mechanical is a MAJOR difference and not a gimmick by any means. Currently im using the coolermaster quickfire rapid cherry blue keyboard and im loving it. MECH boards last longer then others, feel more comfortable and are great for gaming. As for buying one first you have to decide what kind of key you want, cherry blue, red brown, black etc (google is your friend). They range form $50 all they way to $300 depending on where you buy. Mine was $80 btw. The best thing you can do i go to the store and try one out to see how you like it. Most keyboards sold in stores have a little hey hole so you can press them and get an idea of what you want.

Im using a Razer Lycosa and would definitely not recommend it, keys are ocassionally sticky which bugs the hell out of me, but my mouse is great. I picked up a R.A.T. 7 about a month ago and love it.

Choose a mouse and keyboard that feel right to you, what other people like you may hate.

FPS gaming?...

Mouse's:

• Roccat Kova+ = Best claw grip gaming mouse
• Razer DeathAdder = Best palm grip gaming mouse
• Logitech G500 = Great mouse

Keyboard's:

• Microsoft Sidewinder x4 = Best bang for the buck no mechanical keyboard
• Corsair K90 = Best Mehcanical gaming keyboard
• Logitech G110 = Great keyboard

I have had each one of these.

Best combination is the Rocat Kova+ and the Sidewinder X4... Mainly because the type of grip the mouse has making it ideal for FPS gaming and the sidewinder because the keybaord doesn't make much of a difference and its the best non mechanical keyboard available and its cheap.

K90 is a better choice than the Blackwidow if you are leaning towards a mehcanical gaming keyboard.

A mouse depends on the style of grip you prefer or comes more naturally... Claw or Palm, those are arguable the best two so try them out in a store and take which ever feels best you won't go wrong with either of them.

Actually my first kova+ had a dodgy scroll wheel which broke after 6 months. My replacement is feeling much better though.
