I've been saving up for a new laptop after crashing my old one and decided since I play MMOs now, why not get a 'gaming laptop'.

My knowledge in them are lacking, but those look sweet.

Someone suggested to me Dell laptops. What would you suggest?

Dell right now are about the only way I would go I bought a generation 1 XPS and that thing was and still is a beast, Dell's gaming laptops are more of a desktop replacement more then anything and they are considerably large and aren't what you would call mobile, but all in all they get the job done. Alienware is owned by Dell and have kind of cut some corners in the quality area. I would look into Dell's XPS line, and since you only play MMO's I wouldn't look at the most expensive one

Hmm alright I'll look into the alienware and Dell and check out the prices. So far I have $1200 saved.

Avoid alienware, the place is a rip and dell isn't much better. First off I'd wait for the DX10 mobile cards to come out (I don't think they have yet, at least not at a reasonable price), try something like newegg.com or tigerdirect.com, its a pain in the ass to find laptops but they are usually pretty good deals. $1200 isn't going to get you much at alienware.

Depends on the graphics card. BTW a gaming laptop is gonna cost twice as much as an equivalent desktop and your going to miss out on customising and overclocking plus due to the battery life and weight they're not really that portable.
