Proof?zayl99Yeah... we kind of need links or something to back it up. This thread has been made about 500 times since GeoW came out.
yes but will it be DX10 and or look nicer on the pc, probably notAvanaroMost likely, even if its DX9, it'll look better on PC... it always does...
I hate the game for my 360, it's just beyond me how this crappy game won GOTY. It should have been Rainbow Six Vegas in my opinion. Hell, even Oblivion, not this crappy cover fest. The art style was terrible and so for me I'd give the graphics an 8, not matter how shiny it is. Same old drab grays and browns. G4mbl3Funny, looking at your profile reveals that not only do you NOT own Gears, you don't even own a single 360 game. Take it to system wars bud, this is the PC forum.
what you guys think about thisbike749While there hasn't been any official announcement of a PC port. It would be as certain as death and taxes. Epic have always been a big PC developer and honestly both versions probably have been developed at the same time as the two versions would share quite a bit of the same code. Epic just have to wait until the 360 exclusive contract expires, once it has a PC version will be out. Probably DX10 only.
If you read the thing it says that its no secret that we would LIKE to do it. That doesnt mean they will
Umm...yeah it does. Its been officially stated by Epic Games-can't get closer to the truth than that.Drunkentig3r
Just because that Epic wants to doesn't mean they are allowed to. That is up to their publisher. Epic, even though they are the developer, cannot make a port of someone else's game. Microsoft owns the rights to the game (they lisenced Epic to program for them) and they have the final say whether or not it gets ported. Look it up.

Epic actually owns the rights to the game. they're just under a contract with MS as the publisher. Once that contract is done epic can do whatever they want with Gears. Even then I don't think MS would really be against putting it onto the PC.[QUOTE="Johnny_Rock"][QUOTE="Drunkentig3r"]Umm...yeah it does. No matter which scenario plays out, you'll be closer to 2010 before you ever see it on PC's.

Epic owns the rights to the game. It's like rare. Since they left nintendo why do you think they've still been able to keep their franchises? Because they owned the rights to them. Same goes for Epic.[QUOTE="Johnny_Rock"][QUOTE="onemic"][QUOTE="Johnny_Rock"][QUOTE="Drunkentig3r"]Umm...yeah it does. Same goes for Epic.If Epic came up with the concept for the game that would be true. This is Microsofts brainchild and they needed someone to code it. Just because they made the game doesn't mean they have automatic ownership.
EDIT as the link at the top of this page suggests, Epic has been given the go-ahead. So this thread is now moot.
if it has the fully featured coop mode of the 360, then this is great news
gow is a pretty stale singleplayer expeirence, and i found the deathmatch pretty vanilla and shortlived when compared with the pc's library of awesomeness
but the coop mode, playing system link with a pal, pretty completely awesome to play - if the pc has it, then it'll be well worth getting on the pc
besides that, meh - the cover system was just taking a gameplay element that's existed in shooters for years and turned it into a gameplay feature that console kiddies went wild for - it's called hard difficulty, when shooters games on hard, you gotta use crouch, prone, cover and lean to survive most firefights - so what gow did was nothing new
it's an astoundingly beautiful game, but there'll be other ue3.0 games out, and crysis, and more, by the time we get gow
so really, all gow is to me is great coop - if the pc has it, then it'll be a damn good game
if it doesn't, the game has no particular appeal at all

Interesting analysis of the cover feature, and I completely agree, both with that and the fact that Gears of War is a very plain singleplayer experience.
I dont know why they wouldnt port it over, it would sell millions more copies. Its pretty much that microsoft has them by the balls and wants 360 exclusives methinx.
