For some reason whenever I play some of the better looking games My comp screen turns a funky color (any). Its pissing me off because it seems to be only the RPGs. I can play Sins of a solar empire, Company of Heroes, WoW and Soulstorm.

But when I try to play Oblivion, and Neverwinter Nights 2, it crashes. (see above)

I played CoD4 it was alright for a bit, then I turned it down a bit, (resolution) and it worked.

Try different ones, or try reinstalling them, also check your temperatures.

The power supply is more than powerful enough. I think its a driver issue. As I said try uninstalling then reinstalling the drivers.

Also did you have a different graphics card before and you upgraded?

Just checking, sometimes when people switch cards problems like this can occur. As I said download driver cleaner, uninstall the drivers then reinstall them.

Also do you have 3DMark?

Don't worry about it then, its just a way to see if your card is performing as well as it should be. Another thing, did you install patches for Oblivion and Neverwinter Nights?

Does the problem happen right away when you start the game or do you play for a bit and then the problem occurs?

Sounds like overheating, if it was a driver issue it would happen as soon as it loads up.

Run the control panel in the backgound with the temperature logging and then as soon as the problem happens, exit out and tell us what your temperatures were.

Log the temperatures while playing first so we can see how severe it is.

Okay, the temp while playing on the card is about 68 degrees Celsius. The GPU1 is about the same except it sometimes goes up to 70 degrees Celsius.

Hmm that isnt hot at all, that is very strange. And you say it only happens in these two games? never in the others?

Well we know what it isnt:

1. Well obviously we can rule out overheating.

2. Its not a Power Issue.

3. Your card most likely isnt damaged if there are games where you haven't seen any problems.

What else can you do?

1. It may still be a driver issue, so removing your drivers completely and reinstalling them may fix it.

2. Make sure you have every component updated, includes CPU, motherboard, etc...

3. A radical idea would also be to try to uninstalling and reinstalling Oblivion and Neverwinter Nights (Last Resort Try).

No don't uninstall anything right now except the Nvidia drivers and have the installer allready downloaded so you can simply install it after your PC reboots.

Had a similar issue on a much older card; ti4200. Turned out that a capacitor leaked onto another component of the card.
