Yes you should. CS:S is the better game by far, and here's why:
- Maps have been updated to be a bit tighter and have more cover
- Many player movement glitches/exploits have been fixed
- Player scale is slightly larger
- Recoil has been reduced for many guns, making more guns more useful
- Bullet penetration is now per material (no more stupid corner spamming)
- Grenade effects have been greatly improved (more reliable)
- Tons of other tweaks and fixes
The sum of all these changes is a far more tactical game with more emphasis on strategy, positioning and teamwork than simply being a straight-out gunfight. The "random headshots" that some people mention aren't actually random at all, they're the result of lower weapon recoil, larger player scale and tighter maps. And this is a good thing because it forces players to play more defensively and think more carefully about their decisions.
I have been playing Counter-Strike since the day the very first beta was released, and I will tell you wholeheartedly that Source is the better game. It is, for all intents and purposes, the most current version of Counter-Strike, which means this is the game we were intended to play. I absolutely understand why a lot of players still prefer 1.6, but looking at the two games objectively, there is no reason that I can see to recommend 1.6 over Source.
