Yeah i ordered a comp from Dell for $2052 AU.It comes with Vistaand specs of 256MB Nivida 8600GT,4 Gigs o Ram 667Mhz And a Intel Core Duo E6320...Anyway! getting to the point see Vista is full of bugs (So i've heard) and it has problems running certain games so will it have any problems running Comany of Heroes,Stalker and Bioshock? (i also have Aoe3,Warcraft and nuemerous other games but i suspect they'll have no problems)

You paid $2000 that that? It really sounds like you got ripped off. My computer in my sig cost me $2k, and that included an Antec Nine case and a 800 watt single rail power supply.

With the latest drivers, Vista will run fine. With STALKER, make sure you do the following:
1. Right click the shortcut and click properties
2. Set it to run as administrator.

If you do not do this, your game will play really wierd because the developer's who made STALKER are kinda noob.

P.S. I haven't had any issues with Vista. I am convinces that the issues is from the person operating the computer, not from Vista.

Vista isnt that bad, plus you get dx10 goodness!

The comp is pretty good but you should have got someone to make your own that way you could ahve made it better for the same price.

instead of the 4 slow Gb RAM get yourself 2Gb of 800Mhz, and instead of crappy 8600 get some 8800

if you'll have few dollars left replace the 6300 dude to 6600 or better

oh and Vista is the last thing you'll have to be worried about...1st deal with the crap you've ordered - coz it's waste of money

Anyhow. I haven't played STALKER but the other games should work just fine.

STALKER is strictly not supported for Vista. But I think there is a patch now (1.4 I think).

On a side note why do some of these manufactuerors use 4GBs of 667Mhz RAM, when just 2GBs of 800Mhz is more than enough? And would leave a little money for a better CPU/GPU

Yeah it's a complete ripoff, but I disagree with one of your points.

He should not replace the E6320 with the E6600, the only reason why the E6600 was so popular before was because it as the cheapest core 2 duo with 4mb l2cache, that's what it's about. Everyone knows you can overclock Core 2 duos mad, my friend overclocked his E6320 from 1.8 to 3.6 ghz.

Stick with the E6320, get 2 gb of ddr2800 instead of 4 gb of crap.

Definately replace that 8600 with 8800gts and that should only cost you about 2000 australian dollars... what you ARE getting should cost about 500 less.

I'm not sure what frequency the E6320 runs at. But it should run Bioshock fine, I'm not sure about absolute max because it will force you to run it in DX10 (which if I'm mistaken is slightly more of a resource hog than DX9), but you will be able to run it high/almost max at the least. And STALKER should run fine to but like Bioshock, probably not maxed, I can't even COMPLETELY max STALKER and my computer is a beast. I'm not sure about Company of Heroes, as I said I don't actually know what frequency your CPU runs at but its a dual core so it will probably run pretty good. I've run CoH on a 2.8Ghz single core and a 2.4Ghz dual core and the diffrence between the two is astounding, I had to run it on low on the single core but the dual run it flat out maxed so it should run well. Answer your questions?

Also people are only trying to help. $2000Aus is a steep price for those specs. At that price you could have an E6600, 8800GTX, 2GBs 800Mhz RAM and a 320GB HDD. We are only trying to get you the best specs for your money. Also you don't have to worry to much about a pre-built with Vista, since the hardware with the best Vista compatibility should be selected if there a decent PC builder.

and not just for stalker, all online games, you have to do this, you have to give the computer permission to go online. and to do this you have to run as administrator, so just do it for all your games, all you do is right click and click run as administrator.

Thanks Everyone! now i know it's not the BEST comp ever but im 14 and still ruled by my parents who wouldn't trust a small retailer buying a UBER comp from some online store and i know you were all trying to help and you all did a good job of that but i want to play the games i love not on MAX but still high(ish?)even if it can run them with horrible grapichs i would still be happy!(not saying that the card is horrible or anything)anyway if i weren't ruled by my parents.......THEN it might reach the rank of UBER playing the games i love on MAXFunkMasterE3
