Forget DDR3,it'll be useless for a LONG time (At least 3 years) by then you'll probably be ready for new rig and just get the P35-DS3L for much cheaper.
Either way,both are good OCers.

You mean ~1year?
DDR3 prices should be worth it, price/performance, near the end of 2008.

Who said under $100?
Under $200? Definitely. Around $100? Most likely.
DDR2 offered more or less the same increase in performance over DDR...
Also let's not forget the DDR2 price hike, that completely puts things out of perspective for some people.
DDR3 is only like 5-10% better than DDR2 performance-wise,and i highly doubt that 2GB of DDR3 under $100 could be had THAT soon...Indestructible2
It's not about it being better or not, it's about it being the standard - we didn't need the extra bandwidth offered by PCI-e when it came out, nor did we need SATA 3.0GB/s, or even DDR2, to be quire honest. But when they get adopted by all the major manufacturers out there, they will be the standard. Since Intel's X38 chipset and subsequent chipsets will be mainly DDR3, and AMD's upcoming AM3 platform will also be AM3, anyone building a computer late next year will be using DDR3, or at least using a DDR3-capable motherboard with DDR2 slots.
