If you do, and have toki tori, then please play it now.
Just trying to get the word out as I desperately want to play Portal 2 before the weekend is over.

Kinda sad how some of these games only have 2 thousand current CPU's, if everyone that had these games would have completed these semi-easy potato challenges and just played them then Portal 2 would have been released like Saturday...o0Pwnzorz0oThe only sad thing is that most people don't really play them at all after they buy them, but at least they sold quite well for indie games.

Ya that's true. I take it back when I said semi-easy potato challenges... the Audio Surf ones and The Ball potatoes took me hours. I am one away from 24. This is probably the funnest I've had with games in a long time. I usually don't play little indie games like this but for some reason I am having so much fun with these games right now.

It is looking more and more likely that this Arg thing is rigged, it doesn't matter how many play the games it won't unlock things faster. In all probability you will get a few hours off the official release date and that is it. Even if you got every single gamer on steam to get involved with this it still would only shave a few hours off the release date.
It's also one of the easiest games to get the potatoes, one of them just involves you naming your profile a certain name and the other is getting 100% on the Justine DLC which I did for 3 friends in around 1 hour.I'm surprised that Amnesia is doing the worst. It was selling pretty well earlier.

People on the Steam forums are complaining that the whole process is only going to lead to a release about 8 hours earlier than originally planned. My guess is that these people put in way too much of their own time into this expecting perhaps a weekend release.
Seems thousands are participating in a system were they call a game and people rush and start playing (or idling) that game and it goes up to 100% finished. At the moment they are focusing on The Ball. When each game hits 100% I'm pretty sure that a chunk of time is removed from the countdown.
People have made countdowns and estimations of the system. This is probably better ones I've seen. I think it alone gives you a good indication of how much effort some are putting into this whole ARG thing. I personally got a few easy potatoesand called it a day.

I tried Wiki and Google and it just confused me. I've seen this acronym a lot lately.

Some games seem to take longer to increase than others, and it could be based on sales. Amnesia has the most sales which means more people have to play it for it to increase.
There is no point really, if you are lucky you might get Portal 2 three or 2 hours earlier. Dante2710
7-9 hours most likely, but if you're going to work/school that day it won't mean much. It's going to unlock at 6pm where I live, right when I get home from work, so I consider myself one of the lucky ones.
