I have decided to go with two 6950 cards in crossfire over the GTX 590 i was originally going to get. I will try and flash the bios to the 6970 when i get them but even without the benchmarks are awesome.

What do you guys recon a good move or not ?

Can't really go wrong with that, you're going to get such good performance anyway that even if 2 6950's may or may not be a little weaker than a 590, you won't notice.

yep good decision, you can get 2 6950's for the price of a 580 gtx. Ive read someone here actually unlocked his 6950's to 6970 and then put them in crossfire, so you can ask around.

Dude I am not getting in your business, but why would u need that much horsepower when PC graphics have stagnated since 2008, its like having a Ferrari in a country without roads. Buy yourself a single 6950 2gb version unlock it to 6970 and your set, that card should handle everything with ease. SLI or Crossfire is a waste of money, a single 6950 should serve you well for next 2-3 years about time 28nm cards become a norm.

I kinda agree, unless your running multiple monitor setup or over 1920x1080 theres no real point gaming wise, espically with the current generation of consoles holding most games back visually/requirement wise

well I'm upgrading my whole system this week i have been waiting for the Vertex 3 SSD and GTX 590 (which was a waste of time).

I will be getting:

Intel i7 2600k
16gb Corsair Vengeance ram
2x 6950 flashed to 6970 gpu
OCz vertex 3 120gb SSD
2x 1tb F3 samsung HDD
Asus P8P67 Deluxe mobo
and using a XFX 850w PSU

I am willing to spend all the extra chash if it is worth it in the long run.

Have you considered the Intel 510 120gb ssd? I think its like 50 more than what the Vertex 3 will be but Intel SSD's have pretty solid reliability.

I have and I was going to order one of them but the read / write speeds of the OCz are attractive?
