So I have a Razor Deathadder that is starting to wear out, it is doing this thing where it double clicks when i single click. And from googling it is a common problem that can be fixed by dismantling the mouse and oiling the clicker. However I can't remove the damn screws on the mouse without stripping them so i can't do that fix.

So, what is a good cheap mouse, $50, or perferably less because money is tight?

All wrong, maybe the zowie but This is the best mouse, most quake live pros, including me ofc use this mouse or a variation with side buttons(Intellimouse 1.1a) http://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-D66-00029-Wheel-Mouse-Optical/dp/B00006B7HB/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1323240362&sr=8-1 it tracks so much better than my g5 and Lachesis. Only downside is, is that you have to see it to 1000hz manually otherwise it's really average. fwiw http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2m7MrG92aFw BTW all laser mice are junk Read this http://forums.majorleaguegaming.com/topic/165005-fragtalitys-epic-gaming-mice-guide-for-pc-shooting-games/page__view__findpost__p__4957168 if you doubt me

But i'm not a competitive quake or CS player, the closest thing i get to them is a couple community TF2 tournaments. While the cheapy microsoft mouse may be preferable for those competitive games, how does it cope in general compared to a gaming mouse?

It's exactly the same as a normal mouse lol. It's just better.

I don't know what gaming mouse means though? Does it have flashy leds? Why yes one in the back :P

No side buttons though, I adjusted in like 5 seconds though, you can buy one of these if you want side buttons though.

It's just an intellimouse 1.1 with paint of it from sk-gaming. Intellimouse is the same as the WMO except for sidebuttons.

They are pretty cheap and if what you say is true would probably be a good thing to get. However not from that place you linked. $15 shipping for a mouse?

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Speedlink-FERRET-3200dpi-Gaming-Mouse/dp/B003ZUG0L0

This is my mouse and its awesome for its price. I know I linked UK but im just showing you a link to it. It goes from 800 - 3200 dpi so you can really dial it in with 4 different presets you can change at the touch of a button. Really helps when going for sniper shots and you need a slower sensitivity

^Lol, I had those bright glowey logitech optical mices when they were introduced early on around 10 years ago. That sure beated the crap out of ball mices that get dust stuck on all the time. So is it really true that an old mice beats the crap out of my overprice laser mouse

Nah, the logitechs are very average, it's all about the intellimouse sensor.

Also I love the grip of the WMO, it's palm grip and extremely light.

Well you can try A4techs X-7xx series ( look at them at amazon ). For their price have good features ( up to 3200 on the fly adjustable dpi , 2 side buttin and weight adjustment ). Think is if you have small hands you might need some time to get used to them

It's all down to personal preference. I've used quite a few very expensive gaming mice and still prefer the feel of mine.

This is true, just as long as it's not laser, as no gud gamer uses laser mice:

The Zowie mice are very much inspired by the Microsoft Intellimouse. You'd probably dig them, it's like an updated version.

Yes I hear a bit about zowie and that is an optical mice, it probably is very good. I just don't need it as the WMO is a really nice mouse by itself and very cheap. Also... one of my fav part about the WMO to anyone who cares is that it is all plastic, no rubber and it's not like glass smooth so there is some ventilation. Basically there is never any sweat on this mouse, like ever for me. On my old lachesis or mx518, in intense gaming it got sweat on it and felt nasty. An old g5 is what the WMO feels like.

A G5 is a good gaming mouse, and cheap.
