Hey there,

I'm a pretty big FPS player, mostly PC FPS, I'm looking for a new FPS preferably with some different features that the classics,

I was hoping there would be something out there with different mechanics than shoot/reload repeat, like combat arms, crossfire etc.

Battlefield/Heroes has some good features, with the use of vehicles etc, Wolfteam allows "Wolf" play which is pretty unique, and

crossfire has Ghost mode, all very fresh and fun innovations for FPS games. Are there any FPS you feel have fresh mechanics?

Thanks,

lMl

I don't have a very advanced computer, but my friend is obsessed with Fallout 3, which seems to be pretty fresh in terms of an FPS/RPG kind of game.

Hardly a game I would call "fresh." Seeing as it is pretty similar to the past two Elder Scroll games. Mainly Oblivion.

Borderlands was pretty good, I also liked the veil in Wolfenstein.

I really think this is a good game. Really a shame it was limited to so few people because of OS and hardware requirements. This game could have been pretty awesome. Well.... it needs more content too.

Haha, yeah, maybe "fresh" wasn't the word I was looking for. I guess "Not-a-traditional-FPS" fits a little better...

Serious Sam 2 HD is about to be released and the videos actually look epic. I'm not gonna buy it but it does look pretty fun. Check that out.

oh i agree. seriosu sam the second encounter was ungodly amount of fun and the last level despite being very linear was the MOST FUN i have ever had in an fps to date.. and that means this 1 level alone has beaten a heck of a list.. (operation flashpoint 2, doom3, painkiller, crysis, stalker SoC, rainbow 6 vegas 1 & 2, code of honor 1,2,3, bfbc2, metro 2033, half life 2).

there isnt any like super amazing details but the sheer number of enemies alone is enough to impress. im talking about a 6km (real-world size) long corridor about the width of a football field literally packed to the point of insanity with enemies. and you havent even hit he last boss yet. that wins every award i can give it in my book. and the deathmatch's that were had.. ooh boy that was some good stuff.

i think bad company is a game worth playing because of its frostbite destruction system which lets you make a hole in a wall

Lower end FPS: Counter Strike Source, Team Fortress 2, Call of Duty 4, Call of Duty World at War, Battlefield 2, Battlefield 2142 Higher end FPS: Modern Warfare 2 , Battlefield Bad Company 2. Sad to say most FPS are "point and shoot" nothing wrong with that tho is there? :p

I'd say Lead and Gold is very different than any other game I've played, and it just came out and is only $15 on steam. Definitely worth it in my opinion, plus it has a rather small community still so you know the developers are going to listen to you.
